Discovery Channel’s Top 10 Shows

Deadliest Catch Best Episodes

Containing shows that range from dirty to wild, Discovery Channel has a show for everyone.

A Haunting features stories of people who have been either aggravated or tortured by a hindered spirit. Inspired by true events, this show makes people wonder if there really is life after death. If there is life after death, why do these spirits seem to haunt people? My favorite episode is the story of a little boy who went with his sister and brother-in-law to their new home. While in the home, he felt uncomfortable and unsafe. Refusing to go back to the home with his sister, a few days later he felt different. Upon his family hearing of the stories of him seeing dark objects, they concluded by his behavior and sightings that he was possessed. An exorcism was performed and he did turn out to be possessed.

Cash Cab is a game show taking place in New York City where unknown contestants play a trivia game. Based upon current events and historical events, the more questions you get right, the more money you get.

Deadliest Catch is a reality TV show about fisherman in the Bering Sea. You watch the fishing boats catch crabs and fish. My favorite segment of this show is when you follow the Hansen family on their boat. The brothers who own the boat together fight, argue and know how to fish for the perfect catch.

Dirty Jobs has to be my daughters’ favorite, laughing whenever Mike Rowe, the TV host, gets dirty or flustered from performing the job. They thought it was the funniest when he had to power wash the inside of the septic holding tanks and flush them out. While doing this, he got raw sewage all over his boots and pants.

American Loggers follows the logging crews of the eastern United States. Ranging from helicopter logging to water logging, it shows how these men cut down the timber, load it and haul it to the wood plants.

Destroyed In Seconds is based upon a crew that likes to see damage. They range from blowing objects up to crashing them. Seeing numerous items destroyed, my husband’s favorite was when they blew up a propane tanker. Knowing the danger of this happening in a rural area, these objects are blown up for documentation on community safety.

Man vs. Wild is my favorite. It documents a man who is stranded in unlikely places. Locations have included the desert, Antarctica and the rainforest. Proving how someone would survive in these wild places is the base of this show. My utmost favorite and must see episode is when the host was stranded in a rainforest and the local tribe gave him nuts and weeds to eat to help with his hunger and thirst. Instead of proving to be the remedy, it proved to be the problem. Not only did he get violently ill, he had to call for the medics because he was so sick.

MythBusters follows a crew that heads out to prove myths busted or proven. Does mixing Coke and Pop Rocks make your stomach explode? When the crew took pig intestines and placed pop rocks and coke in it, it didn’t explode. It did however cause one heck of a mess.

Wreckreation Nation is based upon a host traveling across America looking for the utmost, hilarious fun. My favorite was when they went barstool sledding. Using barstools from a local bar, they took them down a snow covered hill.
