Dinosaur Themed Party Favor Ideas for Children’s Birthday Parties

Golden Isles, Party Favor Ideas

Are you racking your brain trying to think of dinosaur themed party favor ideas for your child’s birthday party? If so, I might be able to help. I happen to have a few dinosaur party favor ideas that I am willing to share. Here they are:

Dinosaur Bones

My dinosaur bones party favors are easy to make and have multiple uses. In order to create the dinosaur bones, you’ll need to purchase a bag of pencil balloons and some penny candy. For those that are unfamiliar with pencil balloons, they are the skinny balloons that are traditionally used to create balloon animals. A bag of 100 pencil balloons will typically cost you less than $10. You’ll also need to whip up a batch of paper mache.

Once you have your supplies, blow up a few balloons and twist them into the shape of a dinosaur bone. Then coat the balloon with paper mache. Just be sure to leave a small opening in the paper mache that can be used to stuff the dinosaur bone with candy. After the paper mache dries thoroughly, pop the balloon. Continue by removing the broken balloon from the inside of the dinosaur bone.

Then fill the dinosaur bone with candy and seal up the opening with more paper mache. Wait for the paper mache to dry and then paint the dinosaur bones so they appear weathered. You may also opt to write each party guest’s name on a dinosaur bone and let is double as a place card. In addition, the dinosaur bones also work well as part of a dinosaur excavation party game. You can bury a few in play sand, wild rice or oatmeal and let the kids dig for them as if they were paleontologists.

Paleontologist Kit

A paleontologist kit would also make a superlative dinosaur themed party favor. In order to make the paleontologist kits, you’ll need to purchase safari hats, small paint brushes, dinosaur shaped pencils and dinosaur journals. I’d also suggest that you purchase white plastic eggs, candy and some dinosaur themed gift bags. Place the candy inside the plastic eggs. You can tell the kids that they are dinosaur eggs. Once that’s done, place all of the items inside the gift bag. If you have a dinosaur dig game as part of your party activities, the kids can use the paint brushes for excavation and record their findings in their dinosaur journals.

Dinosaur Poop

If you want to give the kids a laugh, create an edible version of dinosaur poop and use it as a party favor. I’d recommend that you whip up a batch of boiled cookies and pass them off as the dinosaur poop. The boiled cookies made with coconut, chocolate and oatmeal will work well for this project. You may opt to put the dinosaur poop into cardboard candy boxes or wooden, slated crates. Personally, I’d go with the wooden crates because it will make the cookies look like they are fossils being sent back to the museum for processing. Just make sure that you line the crates first with packing straw and cardboard. You can typically find slated, miniature crates and packing straw at most major craft stores.
