Jennifer Lopez has delved into just about everything, from acting to her own clothing line. She is known for her perfume collection, two of the most popular being Glow and Still. The newest Jennifer Lopez perfume on the market is Deseo. If you aren’t familiar with the Spanish language, then you probably do not know that the word “deseo” means “desire.” Here, I’ll tell you what I think about this perfume by J-Lo.
Deseo by Jennifer Lopez – Bottle
I try not to judge a book by its cover, but when it comes to perfumes, I often buy them simply because I love the bottle. I must say that I really think the bottle of Deseo by Jennifer Lopez is gorgeous. It is meant to look like a beautiful blue and yellow diamond. It is probably one of the most unique and beautiful perfume bottles that I have ever seen, though I personally like the Britney Spears perfume bottles better.
Deseo by Jennifer Lopez – Cost
Celebrity perfumes are usually not all that cheap. On average, you will pay about $50 for 1.7 oz or $55 to $60 for 3.4 oz of Jennifer Lopez Deseo. The price will vary according to retailer, of course. Although this perfume isn’t entirely inexpensive, it’s about what I would expect from a celebrity perfume. I think that it is moderately priced. One of the places that I know you can purchase Deseo at is Macy’s, but I’m sure you can find it elsewhere if you shop around.
Deseo by Jennifer Lopez – Scents
From what I have read, the perfume was inspired by the scents of a walk through Jennifer Lopez’s Florida garden right before a thunderstorm took place. Some of the scents that were the inspiration of this perfume include amber, bamboo, garden yuzu, star jasmine, pink geranium flower, sandalwood, orange blossom and more. The blend of scents is a bit interesting, which leads us to the next point.
Deseo by Jennifer Lopez – How it Smells
Deseo smells a bit interesting. However, I can’t say that it is like nothing that I have smelled before. In a way, this perfume even reminds me of Jennifer Lopez Glow, which I did not particularly care for. Deseo smells like an unusual combination of citrus and sandalwood. While there are some definite floral notes, I don’t think that they are nearly as strong as the citrus or sandalwood. Since I tend to prefer sweeter or fruity smelling perfumes, I can’t say that this perfume is something that I could see myself wearing. Deseo seems to be targeted an older audience, rather than a younger one, in my opinion. Although I am sure that Deseo by Jennifer Lopez would appeal to some people, it just does not appeal to me.
I give Deseo by Jennifer Lopez 3 out of 5 stars. It is not a perfume that I will be buying. Although it doesn’t appeal to me, I don’t think that it is necessarily a bad scent for a reasonably priced celebrity perfume. I would recommend it to people who prefer citrus scents over fruity, sweet scents.
