Delphi NAV200 GPS Review

Delphi, Gps Navigation System, Shortcut Keys

For a reasonable price of around $200.00, the Delphi NAV200 makes an excellent travel companion as an affordable GPS navigation system. With a 400MHz processor and SiRFstarIII GPS receiver, the Delphi NAV200 lets you just plug and go. Just insert the included SD card, and you’re ready to plan your trip.

Design
The Delphi NAV200 is lightweight and portable, measuring a mere 5.3 by 3.2 by 1 inches and weighing only 6.7 ounces. The flip-up antenna in the back adds a little bulk, but it’s negligible.

The NAV200 boasts a 3.5-inch touch screen; 16.7 million colors with 320×240-pixel resolution with an antiglare coating for better viewing in daylight. You can use the virtual keyboard or the included stylus neatly tucked away at the top edge of the device for text input.

The convenient external shortcut keys – menu and screensaver to the left; zoom in / zoom out to the right -make the NAV 200 features easily accessible.

On the right, you’ll find the volume control and a jack for an optional traffic receiver as well as the power connector port. On the left is where you’ll find the power button and the convenient 3.5mm headphone jack.

The bottom of the device houses the SD expansion slot, but you’ll need a card reader since a USB port is lacking.

The NAV200 comes nicely packaged with preloaded maps of the United States and Canada, a vehicle mount with windshield and dash options, a car charger, and reference material.

Standard or Extended Mode:

You can use the standard mode for point A to point B routes until you become familiar with extended features including multi-destination routes, point of interest searching, favorite and recent destinations, and even vehicle, pedestrian, or bicycle modes. Missing a turn is not a problem because the NAV200 will automatically recalculate a route for you!
