Amazon has a lot of versions like amazon.com/amazon.co.uk /amazon.fr and amazon started off as a small American company selling books, but now it’s the world’s biggest online mail order company. They’ve expanded from selling books, to music, videos and DVD’s, to electronics, toys, to software and computer bits, as well as offering DVD rental services and much more. Needless to say, their selection of products is huge for each category!
And in the other hand we have dealextreme not so popular little eshop with not a lot choice so why am i comparing it to this eshop business shark amazon company? simple international shipping from the amazon family only amazon.co.uk sends stuff outside the UK/USA/CANADA/FRANCE/GERMANY and dealextreme sends their products to every single country in the world plus dealextreme has lower prices.
ORDERING
Ordering on amazon is very easy just like any other website with a shopping cart facility. When you have something in your basket, Amazon suggests other items that you may be interested such as items that other people, who’ve purchased what you’ve just added to your basket, have bought. Something quite nifty is how they tell you at the top of the page, how much more you need to spend before you qualify for the free Super Saver Delivery. The site stores your address and card details so that you do not have to keep typing it in each time you wish to order something from Amazon. Not just that, they let you store more than one address so you can add a work address as well as your home address, which is quite handy.
Ordering on dealextreme is a little bit more complicated cause you see they have this awesome feature to send their products as gifts if they are bellow the price of 160$ but many people doesn’t know this cause you need to add a coupon to your shopping basket that costs 0.01$ in order to receive your product as a gift, but why do we need to buy our products as gifts? Simple if you buy a 100$ worth product you will pay ~10$ of fees if you buy it as i gift you will pay 0$.
DELIVERY
Delivery in amazon. Delivery time of orders is usually amazingly quick IF YOU LIVE IN USA/UK/FRANCE/CANADA/GERMANY if you live in other countries you will receive your product in 2 or 3 weeks. Delivery is free if your order is £5 or more, with the exception of Marketplace items. If below £5, it depends on the weight of items, which I think is a bit annoying if you only want the one small cheap item such a DVD, which you may very well get free delivery on from another big online retailer. On the up side, Amazon packs the items more securely. All items I’ve ordered have been packed securely, using cardboard. You will also find the invoice with your order, with a return form and instructions on the back. So far, they have not made any mistakes with my orders thus showing their efficiency. There are items which take longer to be dispatched (several weeks) but they tell you on the item description. If you order more than one item, you can choose to have them dispatched in one order or as they become available, which is at cost.
Delivery in dealextreme there are 2 ways for your product to be delivered 1. air delivery 2nd express delivery. For the air delivery you have to wait from 7 to 9 days (international) you can choose express delivery only if you live in the USA.Air delivery costs 0$ and express from 7to40$.Dealextreme secures every package and takes full responsibility if your product gets damaged,this never happened to me i always get my products on time and in perfect condition.
MY EXPERIENCE
I’ve ordered quite a few items from amazon and have had no problems at all. That’s why I keep going back. I find the site very easy to use and can often find what I want at a good price. If I find something cheaper elsewhere then I do go elsewhere but I do find bargains on Amazon. I’ve also had occasions when I chose to return items and the process was straight forward and I was refunded in a timely fashion. Ordering is always easy and they do store card and address details to make ordering quicker. Items have always arrived promptly and safely, except for items that have a longer delivery time stated or items that are out of stock. As for customer service, Amazon is quick to get back to you with answers and same when you want to return an item.
I bought only few items from dealextreme but all i can say is it was even faster/cheaper than amazon could offered me.I trust dealextreme now more than ebay or other eshop.There wasn’t no problems with my credit cards/paypal account,my purchased items were delivered to my in 4 days in a perfect condition and a secure rapping actually i needed to spend ~5minutes to get everything out cause it was very secured.
