Cures for Nausea That Do Not Require Medicine

Nausea, Peppermint Candy, Throw Up

The dreaded nausea plague….. Nothing on the planet can reduce me to a quivering mess of childishness quite like the dreaded nausea plague. Since the earliest days of man, nausea has been one of the most crippling calamities around. Finding natural relief from nausea is one of the most important things on Earth to one who suffers from it. Luckily there are some great natural home remedies for nausea readily available in most homes, and in an emergency that can be a huge comfort. Here are some natural cures to calm nausea:

The first natural cure for nausea is to push clear liquids as you can tolerate it. It is very important to remember that you are dehydrating yourself when you throw up, and you must replace what you lose. Clear liquids are the most important key to getting better quick. Drink in small sips, and do not try to go quicker than your stomach will allow. This will only result in more nausea.

Try to drink fresh ginger in a glass of hot tea. I am not a big fan of hot tea, but when I am nauseous, this is a miracle cure. Be sure that you are using the freshest possible ginger, and that the tea is hot. It may not taste fantastic but it does wonder to settle your stomach.

Chamomile tea is yet another hot tea that can do wonders to cure nausea. The taste is better than the ginger tea, but it is not as effective for me. Sometimes when the ginger is tasting nasty to me, I will drink chamomile instead for my nausea cure. Try them both and see which one does the best for you.

Peppermint candy is a wonderful nausea cure. Not only does the peppermint help to ease the nausea but it helps get that horrid taste out of your mouth as well. Do not crunch on the candy. Suck on the peppermint candy for the best nausea curbing effects.

A wonderful home remedy that my grandmother used to give me is to mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of natural honey. After mixing this well, you can then drink the mixture. This seems to work pretty well, and I often try this first before the nausea actually makes me throw up. Once I am sick however, this does not seem to do well for me. It seems to be more of a way to help with faint nauseous feelings than actual nausea.

One of the neatest solutions for nausea requires nothing more than sitting still, and rubbing your pressure point. The spot just between your forefinger and your thumb is a wonderful thing. Put light pressure in this spot and over time it will help to curb those nausea feelings. It is very calming even when you do not have nausea.

Nausea is certainly one of the worst feelings in the world, but with some effort you can calm it effectively. Just remember that dehydration is the biggest danger. If you are unable to hold anything down at all, it is time to call the doctor and get some help. Usually nausea can be controlled by these natural remedies and a little bit of whining. The whining is optional but it certainly helps me.
