From the minute your baby is born, he or she is a sweet little angel, so why not represent that? You can’t simply go around telling everyone who sees the child; you’d spend your lifetime doing that. Instead, make a shirt, and everyone who sees it will know that you consider your baby to be a little angel. The shirt doesn’t have to be worn during Christmas or Easter, when most child angels are seen; your baby can wear the shirt for any season.
You don’t have to craft giant wings to create an angel shirt – that would be a costume, not a shirt. For a shirt, you can do something much more simplistic, but every bit as beautiful. Your baby or toddler will look, well, angelic, with an shirt that has angel wings on the back.
How you make the wings is your choice. Are you someone who loves to sew? Cut felt or fabric angel wings and position them on the backside of the chosen shirt. A good shirt would be one without buttons or a zipper running down the back. A t-shirt with short or long sleeves is a good choice, but you could also put the wings on a tank top, a sleeper, a robe, or another shirt choice. Pin the wings in place and sew around the edges of each one to affix it to the clothing.
If you don’t want to do any sewing you can always draw the wings onto the shirt. You can easily find an angel wing template or stencil to use. Tape a stencil down, and color inside of it with a paint marker, or draw around a template, and then color it in with the marker. Since paint markers come in a huge variety of types, from pearl-look to metallic, you can put the wings of your choice on any color of shirt or garment.
There are different designs that you can make of the angel shirt. One is done with just the wings and another is created when you write “I’m am Angel”, or another saying, underneath the wings. Perfect for anyone from a new baby to an older child, whether a boy or a girl, the adorable shirt will having many people agreeing with you.
