Are you looking to throw a party for your child in Philadelphia? Well here are some for entertaining children’s birthday parties. Here are some of my favorite suggestions for venues that range from food to sports and games. They are all located in the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Details: A birthday party here includes 2 hours of climbing in their indoor rock climbing gym. Rock climbing has become a popular “adventure sport” for children even in the elementary school age group. Also included in the package are staff supervision to ensure safety, pizza and beverages, a private party room, equipment, a party host, and a t-shirt for the birthday boy or girl. The cost is $295 for up to 10 children and then $17 for each additional child. Parties can be reserved Monday through Friday from 4 pm until 10 pm and weekends from 10 am until 8 pm.

Details: These parties are based on fifteen different themes for you to choose from. The cost is determined by the theme and number of children attending, so it varies. In general a party lasts 2 hours. The cost will include both invitations and thank you cards, along with cake, party favors, the paper supplies, souvenir photos for all the children, and a special gift for the birthday boy or girl. Some of the themes include train, farm, tea, pirates, a dinosaur hunt, and pom pom princess themes just to name a few.

Details: This is a great option for a birthday party with a sweet tooth. Here at Ricky’s Candy Cones & Chaos the kids get to make their own snacks. The party includes making a treat. Some samples of the treats include making their own sundae, cupcake decorating, cookie decorating and gum making. Ricky’s Candy Cones & Chaos has a huge assortment of candy options to decorate these dessert items with. The party also includes a selection of games including candy bingo and candy trivia which you get to choose two from. You can also add extras including pizza, a chocolate fountain, or a piñata. The party lasts 1.5 hours and is for children 3 years of age or older. Cost depends on what you choose from the party list.

Details: Ultrazone is a game area where children can play laser tag. The party includes 2 games of laser tag for each child. The games last about 15 minutes on average. It also includes a semi-private room, party coordinator, unlimited beverages, 1-2 pieces of pizza per child (depending on package), cake (with the 1 slice of pizza per child package), paper goods, and invitations. The cost is $16.95 per child for 10-25 children. The party lasts about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Details: This is a skating rink along with a fun zone. The basic package includes either 45 minutes of skating time or time in the fun zone (which is for children below 10 years of age), pizza and a 10 ounce soda for each child, four arcade tokens, invitations, paper products, and the opportunity for the birthday boy or girl to skate with their character “Roller Roo” and get a bouquet of balloons. This runs $105 for eight children and $10.50 for each additional child. An upgraded party includes unlimited sodas, a glow item for each child, four additional arcade tokens and skate rental for parents. This costs $125 for eight children with additional children at $12.50 each.

Details: All Fired Up is a unique opportunity for children to paint pottery and have it “fired” for them to take home when they are done. The children must be three years or older and the party lasts one and a half hours. The party cost depends on the items prepared. The cheapest pottery party is $180 and includes small box, a heart box, a penguin or a dog. Also included in all packages for pottery is a birthday plate for the birthday boy or girl. This is signed by all their guests and “fired” for them. For higher prices there are princess and pirate theme parties for $250 for 10 guests. There is also an option for $150 to make tie die shirts at the party.

Details: This is a great opportunity for your young athlete to have a sports party. This indoor sports arena includes many different sports ranging from baseball to soccer. Depending on the sport chosen, the cost will vary. The party includes 15 minutes of free play for the children. Then there is 45 minutes of activity on the field supervised by a staff member. Along with this there are three large pizzas and one soda for each child with a maximum of 20 children attending.

Details: Bette’s Family Fun Center has plenty of activities for children. There is an inflatable climbing area for the children, but they must be 10 years or under. There is also Nintendo WII’s and PlayStation gaming systems available to play. The cost includes invitations, paper products, 2 hours in the private play area, pizza and beverages. The price starts at $195 for 8 children, and goes up to $295 for parties of 20 children. Adults are not included in the total guests for pricing purposes.
