Cheyenne, Wyoming Restaurant: Country Buffet

Barbeque Chicken, Peach Cobbler

My friend and I recently ate at the restaurant called Country Buffet in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We received good food for affordable prices at the Country Buffet restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Here’s my review of the County Buffet restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The atmosphere here in this large dining establishment is quite laid back and relaxing, and is located at the Frontier Mall.

My friend and I dined on a Saturday afternoon in late January 2008 for lunch. Many buffet stations abound here, and we found quite a selection of food. This dining establishment’s several buffet stations include a taco bar; a salad bar with the vegetables appearing to have good color and freshness; a station loaded with char-broiled tasting cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and pizza; another buffet bar full of pasta that featured spaghetti and Asian noodles. Because I am fried chicken lover, I savored their excellent-tasting fried chicken, which was cooked well, and had no redness at the bone. Their barbeque chicken has a nice tangy flavor, and the mashed potatoes had a mild, creamy flavor.

Several selections are on hand for dessert, including three flavors of ice cream plus toppings like hot fudge. You can find chocolate cake and bread pudding there, too. The guest I dined with commented on how creamy the ice cream was. And I must say that the ice cream was great-tasting, too, and the hot fudge was very gooey. I only wish the ice cream bowls were bigger, as they are quite small. Oh well, that just means you’ll have to exercise some of those calories off to get another serving or two if you desire! My friend was quite impressed with the Apple Crisp and Peach Cobbler of the Country Buffet.

The service is fast and friendly, as the only short wait you may have to endure is when you are at the cashier’s desk waiting for entry to the buffet by pre-paying for your meal. After you’ve paid, you find an empty table or booth, then go get your food. Wait staff came by our table often to remove plates of food for discarding. Our Saturday afternoon lunch buffet was $8.15 each, tax included, and of course included all the trips to the various buffet stations we wanted until 3:30 p.m. as well as all the self-serve drinks and desserts we desired. The drinks included a number of Coca-Cola products, water, and coffee.

For dinner, nightly specials are featured during the week according to the banner inside the restaurant. For instance, on Mondays, you can dine on Meatloaf and Carved Roast Beef; on Thursdays, Baked Fish and Fried Chicken are on hand; and on Saturdays, Baked Ham, Steak and Beef Ribs that are barbequed await diners of the County Buffet.

We saw a lot of children there carrying around balloons that were given to them by this Country Buffet restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
