Caffeinated Drink Mix: Try Morning Spark

Drink Mixes

I’m always looking for new types of drink mixes to make ordinary water more palatable, and I occasionally need an extra boost of energy. I realize caffeine isn’t the healthiest way to get that boost of energy, but now and then I find it necessary to seek a little extra help when I have work to complete and when I haven’t had the sleep I’ve needed. I’ve discovered a caffeinated drink mix called Morning Spark, and the following review will help you decide if Morning Spark is something you’ll want to try.

The first time I found Morning Spark, it was on a clearance shelf at Wal-Mart, and it was only 75 cents for a box of 10 drink mix packets. Each packet flavors 2 eight-ounce glasses or bottles of water. I figured since it was on clearance it hadn’t gone over very well, and I’d never find it again. I recently found Morning Spark once again in the drink mix aisle of another Wal-Mart store, and it was alongside other drink mixes that aren’t caffeinated. I was pleasantly surprised, and I looked forward to trying other flavors.

Product Description

Morning Spark caffeinated drink mix comes in a bright yellow box with a sunburst, and the yellow letters are highlighted by a blue oval swirl. The design of the box screams energy, and it’s appropriate labeling for this type of drink. The words Caffeinated Drink Mix are highlighted by a red oval graphic, and you won’t miss it on store shelves.

Ingredients

Morning Spark Caffeinated Drink Mix provides 200% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C for those on a 2,000 calorie diet. It also provides a mere 5 calories, no fat, no sodium, and absolutely no sugar. This drink is acceptable for anyone on a low carbohydrate diet since it only contains 1 gram of carbohydrates per serving. The package doesn’t say how much caffeine a half packet contains, but caffeine is fourth on the list after citric acid, ascorbic acid, and potassium citrate.

Available Flavors and Price

You’ll find Morning Spark Caffeinated Drink Mix in Ruby Red Grapefruit, Cranberry, Orange, and Apple flavors. I’ve tried all four flavors of this caffeinated beverage mix, and most of the boxes I purchased were on clearance for 75 cents. The last box I purchased was just under $2.00 at my local Wal-Mart store.

Recommendation

I’m not particularly fond of any of the flavors of Morning Spark Caffeinated Drink Mix. It’s something I only consume when I need a quick pick-me-up, and I wouldn’t choose it because of the flavor or the addition of vitamin C. The flavors are somewhat sour, and I believe they were chosen to hide the flavor of the caffeine in this mix. It doesn’t taste bad, but it’s not exceptionally good either. Since taste is an individual preference, I recommend trying all four flavors to decide which one you like the best.

I recommend drinking Morning Spark Caffeinated Drink Mix occasionally. I don’t recommend drinking any caffeinated drinks on a regular basis, and only within moderation. Morning Spark just might be the cold beverage you occasionally need to give you the energy you need to make it through the day. Give it a try, and decide for yourself!

Warning

Morning Spark Caffeinated Drink Mix is not recommended for children or anyone who is sensitive to caffeine.
