C.O. Bigelow, the high-end apothecary from New York City, produces an 18 in 1 uses peach nut oil soap that is, from what I can tell, the world’s most useful soap. My wife proudly brought this soap home for me one day, thinking that I might find it useful or even like it for the shower due to its wonderfully nutty smell. I must say that I am highly impressed with the quality of the C.O. Bigelow Peach Nut Oil Soap and its versatility.
To give you an idea of the sheer usefulness of the C.O. Bigelow 18 in1 Peach Nut Oil Soap, here is a list of possible applications from the product label: body-washing, shampooing hair, shaving, hand soak, nail soak, laundry, cleaning delicate washables, household-cleaning, washing dishes, floor-cleaning, jewelry-cleaning, comb and brush cleaning, stove tops, car-washing, boat-washing, surfboard washing, and foot baths! Talk about an extraordinarily versatile and multipurpose cleaning product.
Since the C.O. Bigelow Peach Nut Oil Soap boasts that it can be used for body washing and for hair shampooing, my first experience with this product was in the shower. I first tried to wash my hair with the Co.O. Bigelow Peach Nut Oil Soap, and I was specifically impressed with the way in which the soap rinsed right out of my hair without leaving any kind of residue. I was concerned with the “peach nut oil” factor insofar that I was worried that the oil derivative would leave an oily residue in my hair. Thankfully and impressively this was not the case. The C.O. Bigelow Peach Nut Oil Soap was equally impressive as a body was, once again leaving no detectable residue on my skin. The disadvantage to using this soap as a body was is that it took a rather large quantity of the Peach Nut Oil Soap to get enough lather to wash adequately. But this soap is not designed to be a high-lather soap due to its goal of versatility.
One thing that I was immediately impressed with about the C.O. Bigelow 18 in 1 Peach Nut Oil Soap was its unique flavor. Since the soap comes from peach pits, the soap has a wonderful smell that is some combination of fruity and nutty all at the same time. It is what I would consider to be a unisex scent with masculine tendencies, and it should be a scent that will please almost any nose.
While I have not experimented heavily with the other uses of the C.O. Bigelow brand 18 in 1 Peach Nut Oil Soap due to its rather hefty price tag, I did take the soap camping and used it for everything from showering to washing the dishes after camp cooking. It performed adequately in all respects, although in retrospect I probably should have taken an unscented multipurpose soap due to the presence of bears in Yosemite National Park. The last thing I would want is for a bear to raid the campsite looking for the C.O. Bigelow 18 in 1 Peach Nut Oil Soap, for I am sure that a bear would love the scent as much as I do!
