After some thorough scanning of the ice cream section I couldn’t believe how much yucky stuff is used in the making of ice cream. I had already bought one thing of ice cream that I was not happy about for my son’s birthday party and I did not want to get any more. In the particular store where I was the best brand that I could find was Breyer’s Ice Cream. From what I was seeing this brand of ice cream used less than ten ingredients in its ice creams and its ingredients were very natural food items. Seeing how I love strawberries so much I went with the Breyer’s Strawberry Ice Cream.
I have always liked strawberry ice cream and I was pretty sure that a lot of people at the party would like it too. It turned out that it was the most popular ice cream at the party, most of the people wanted to have it over the other choice, which was vanilla. I was very glad that I had decided to get it. Everyone said that it tasted really good and when I tasted it I totally agreed. It tasted like a really good quality ice cream. There were yummy strawberries in Breyer’s Strawberry Ice Cream and the overall taste was just excellent. I looked at the ingredients and saw that it only contained milk, strawberries, sugar, cream, whey and natural tara gum. I loved that strawberries were the second thing listed. After looking at the ingredients I studied the nutrition facts of the ice cream.
The nutrition facts of Breyer’s Strawberry Ice Cream are based on one half of a cup of the ice cream. Each serving contains one hundred and twenty calories with forty five calories from fat. There are fifteen milligrams of cholesterol and thirty five milligrams of sodium in every half of a cup serving as well as two grams of fiber and fifteen grams of both carbohydrates and sugars. In the minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts it listed four percent for vitamin A, six percent for calcium and ten percent for vitamin C. It was nice seeing the vitamin C content in this ice cream which likely came from the strawberries. I didn’t really expect the ice cream to be super healthy or anything but it is nice when you can find some that has some fruit nutrition in it.
I was glad that the Breyer’s Strawberry Ice Cream was a hit. I don’t know how often I will be getting it but I will be sure to keep it in mind if I am having a party. Not usually buying and eating ice cream I really don’t see myself getting it too often. When I went to the store in look for ice cream I saw that the Breyer’s ice creams were on sale for two dollars and ninety eight cents for a one and a half quart size container. I was hoping to not spend more than three dollars on the ice cream so I was very glad to see this. Had it not been on sale I probably still would have chosen it for the party and if I can find it again, hopefully on sale again, and was in need of ice cream I’ll probably choose it again. The one thing holding me back is the fact that the strawberries in it are not organic. I would recommend to anyone to try this ice cream as long as they don’t mind that the strawberries aren’t organic. It has a wonderful taste and won’t disappoint.
