Birthday Party Invitations, Blues Clues, Green Party Invitations

Planning a child’s birthday can be quite fun. Usually, the younger children will enjoy a themed birthday party. Of course, a themed party means making everything right, from having the right decorations, to the perfect cake, and lots of people attending this birthday event. You might think the the party starts when everyone comes strolling through the door, but that is anything but true. You can get the party started and get all of the excitement going once you send out your party invitations.

Most young children know and love that adorable blue dog, known to many as Blue. The show Blues Clues has been a very popular children’s show for several years and does not seem to be losing its popularity among this younger audience. Your child might have a strong love for that cute little dog Blue and her friends, so what better way to celebrate that than by a Blues Clues themed birthday party. But of course, before the party even gets started, you’re going to have to invite people. If you’re feeling slightly creative, you can make your own Blues Clues birthday party invitations for free.

Now, you might be thinking that you could never make quality birthday party invitations, but it isn’t as hard as it seems. You can create stunning Blues Clues birthday party invitations with little to no effort. You don’t have to be a computer pro, just a great parent who wants to make your child’s birthday party a blast.

Homemade Birthday Party Invitations

The most basic, and easiest way to create your child’s Blues Clues birthday party invitations is to check out NickJr’s website and print out the pre-made Blues Clues birthday party invitations that they offer. You can check these out here. These birthday party invitations might be a little on the plain side, but they offer all of the details that every party needs; the who, what, when, where, and why.

You can also check out this site, and it also will provide you with a Blues Clues birthday party invitation that you just print out, fill out the information for, and then just mail out to those people that you are inviting.

For my daughter Lexi’s first birthday, she was absolutely in love with Blues Clues, so I had her birthday as a Blues Clues first birthday theme. For this I decided to be completely brave and make all of my own Blues Clues birthday party invitations. At first I thought that I was going to get a picture of her sitting with her Blues Clues doll, take a picture in Black and White, and then make Blue her trademark color using one of the Paint Shop programs that I had, but I was no computer expert and between working and a walking child, I had no time for such things. So, what I did was improvise a little.

What You’ll Need:
Blank, printable cards – smaller ones work best, as they look like authentic invitations.
A glue stick or two
Access to a computer printer, with paper, and color ink
Some Blues Clues clipart – you can find this online through google images, or through a web search.
Some colored card stock or construction paper
Fancy scrapbooking scissors (you don’t need these, but they can add a creative touch)
Several sheets of different sticker letters (these too are optional).

I purchased some blank, printable cards that you can buy at stores such as Wal-Mart. I got about 20 in a package. I then decided to go and do a search for some Blues Clues clipart. You can do this by going through google images or you may just do a google search for Blues Clues clipart. For the front of my card, I decided that I wanted a picture of Blue with a birthday hat on. It wasn’t an easy task, but I did find one that I liked. I saved it to my hard drive and I ended up printing it out on plain white paper. I glued it to a heavier piece of card stock and then cut around with my fancy scrapbooking stickers with a fancy edge. I then took my final cutout and then glued it on to the front of the card. With the sticker sheets that I purchased, I aligned the words “You’re Invited” on the front, around Blue. Now, if you don’t have the sticker sheets, you may certainly write this out by hand and color it with different markers, or however you would like to do it. This part is completely up to you.

For the Inside, I found a few other clip art images for other characters that were in Blues Clues. and I printed out a picture of the infamous Blues Clues paw print and pasted it in the middle, where my information for the party was going to go. I wrote the following in the card:

For:
Date:
Time:
Place:
RSVP:

I filled out all of the information that the Blues Clues birthday party invitation needed. I went and added stickers here and there to add a little more personal touch on the birthday party invitation. Granted, it took me a few nights to finish completely, but in the end, I was completely happy with the results, as no two invites were the same. My family raved about them, and in each one I ended up putting a waller-sized picture of Lexi and her Blues Clues doll in each one.

If you really want the look and feel of homemade Blues Clues birthday party invitations and you just don’t have the time to make them, you can always check out eBay. There are several sellers who make their living by making personalized birthday party invitations with popular characters. Usually these cards are going to cost you more than purchasing normal, pre-made birthday party invitations, but if you are looking for that homemade look, the price is worth the end result.

Purchasing Blues Clues Birthday Party Invitations

You might not feel comfortable making your child’s birthday party invitations or you simply may not have the time. Well, that’s no problem because there are several places where you can purchase Blues Clues birthday party invitations without spending a lot of money.

At Whale of a Party, you can find several Blues Clues birthday party invitations. The best bet is the Blues Clues birthday party invitation / thank you card combo. At only $4.29, you can get 8 Blues Clues birthday party invitations with envelopes as well as 8 Blues Clues “thank you” postcards for much cheaper than buying the two separately. If you’re not into the combo deal, you can purchase a package of 8 Blues Clues birthday party invitations for $3.99, which includes the envelope as well.

Celebrate Express offers the same Blues Clues birthday party invitations as the store above, but the prices here seem to be a little bit cheaper, offering the same set of birthday invitations for only $3.59 per package of 8 invitations. However, from previously purchasing birthday party invitations for my daughter’s birthday party, I highly recommend planning ahead and purchasing the birthday party invitations from here earlier than expected, as shipping takes a while from this company.

A Perfect Party Zone seems to offer the best deal if you are looking to purchase Blues Clues birthday party invitations, but they only sell the combo package of 8 Blues Blues birthday party invitations and the 8 Blues Clues “thank you” postcards, for a whopping low price of $3.29 per combination package.

Now remember, whenever you are going to purchase invitations online, going with what appears to be the lowest price might not always be the best bet. Don’t forget to take into considerations the shipping costs of the invitations. Also, the time that it will take for your Blues Clues birthday party invitations to get to you is important as well. If you are expecting to order the invitations and mail them out within the week, buying the invitations at your local Wal-Mart or Target might be your best option.
