Blue is the New Black High Heel

High Heels, Stuart Weitzman, Summer Sandals, Work Clothing, Work Wardrobe

As the fall/winter season approaches, it’s likely that you’ll trade your summer sandals for a pair of black high heels as you transition your work clothing. After all, black matches just about everything, right? But why limit yourself to simple black heels? Try something a little less traditional, and a little more daring: blue high heels.

Believe it or not, there are several different places you can purchase blue high heels, including both in-store and internet options. In fact, some stores are even marketing blue high heels as a major player in today’s fashion scene, as they have been shown in designer collections and are easily able to be transitioned into your wardrobe.

In the following guide, I’ve included different styles and shades of blue high heels for the 2009-2010 season. I’ve made it even easier for you to find these shoes, as you can order all of them from Zappos, an online shoe retailer. Of course, you can find each style of shoe at their respective designer’s store, but through Zappos, you can order several pairs that you would like. If they don’t fit, Zappos has a fantastic return policy, which is why I’m recommending them. They also offer free shipping (both ways) on many of the shoes featured, and frequently offer sales throughout the year.

Consider the following ten high-heels:

#1: typeZ-Colleen navy-leather shoes-These pointy-toed heels have a 4-inch heel, and are $69.00. They would look nice with a pair of dark tan pants and light shirt, and aren’t so shiny that they would bring unwanted attention to you.

#2: Stuart Weitzman Idol-These high heels are navy blue, and have a 3 ¼ inch heel. They cost $160, but are from a well-respected brand. They are available in patent or kid leather, and have small cut-outs in the top of the shoe that add an unexpected touch.

#3: L.A.M.B. Gideon-The light blue leather with a white criss-cross pattern makes this a unique and pretty shoe, and they cost $175. These shoes would best be worn on a dry day, as the light blue leather might be a bit difficult to clean after your morning commute. These shoes would be perfect with a light tan skirt and white shirt.

#4: Stuart Weitzman Pinchos-This navy peep-toe pump with a light grey heel would be a welcome addition to any wardrobe, as they would work well with many styles of pants and skirts. They cost $166.

#5: Jean Paul Gaultier GA16927C0PF20-These light blue open toed high heels add a flirty and feminine touch to your work outfits. The heel is 2 ¾ inches, and the shoes are gathered around the open toe. There is a small bow near the open toe, and makes the shoe even cuter! These shoes cost $301.

#6: D&G; Dolce & Gabbana DS1726E8068-These gorgeous shoes are best for a special day when you’re celebrating a promotion, or want to look polished in a nicer than usual outfit. The heels have a tri-toned upper with snake print details, along with a wide round throat. The heels are 3 ¾ inches tall, and the shoes cost $625.60. These shoes are expensive, but are worth the splurge!

#7: Jessica Simpson Debbie-These dark-teal rounded shoes are a more affordable option than many shoes on the list, and are still just as nice and able to fit in with a woman’s work wardrobe. The upper part of the shoe is suede, and has metallic stud detailing. The platform pump design allows the heel to climb to 4 ½ inches, but appears to be a wearable, comfortable shoe. The price is $78.95.

#8: Nine West Panout-These turquoise satin peep-toe shoes are a unique addition to a shoe collection, as none that you already own will likely be similar. The satin upper part of the shoe has overlay accents, and the wrapped 3 ½ inch heel adds a different type of style to the shoe. Be careful in wet weather, however, because you don’t want your satin to show water wear. These shoes are also affordable, and only cost $78.95.

#9: Fitzwell Lana II-The navy patent shoe has a classic pump silhouette, and also features an updated low profile sole. The pointy toe shoe adds to the appeal of the low heel, which is 2 ¾ inches. These simple high heels are good for more conservative offices, but allow you to add some color to your outfit. They are $65, and are a good deal for the cost-conscious shopper.

#10: Cole Haan Carma OT Air Pump-This navy patent peep toe pump is stylish, and is likely the most comfortable shoe on the list. It is cushioned with the new Nike Air technology, which provides the wearer with comfort not typically found in a high heel. The shoes have a 3 ½ inch heel, but don’t even feel as if they are high heels, as the comfort level is much higher than typical high heels. The shoes cost $298.95.
