“Black Amethyst” has been one of my most worn scents during the colder months of last year and into this year.
For some reason or another I always tend to reach for this on Sundays before heading out to church. This scent is very mature and is something that I tend to gravitate more towards when dressing up.
I had never tried out this product before last fall, mainly because I never knew it had existed.
Even though I now am obsessed with Bath and Body Works, I kind of fell out of buying there items for a few years.
While vacationing in Orlando, Florida in the fall of last year, we visited a local mall and me and my husband went into a Bath and Body Works store located there.
I really wanted to try out some new products and this one almost went under my radar.
It seems that in every store, this scent is located to the left of the store in the very front. You literally walk right past it upon entering and this is why I did not see it if it weren’t for my hubby wanting me to sniff another scent that was nearby.
This scent immediately struck me as something that I would have never imagined Bath and Body Works to carry. The reason I say that is because it is stronger and deeper in smell. Most of their older and best selling products are sweet or floral in nature, this one is a lot more sophisticated and perfume like in my opinion.
I do not think that everyone will like this though. Many younger women and teens shop there and they want something lighter, this is definitely not for those women.
I really tend to like “boyfriend” scents for some reason and this is definitely has stronger masculine notes. I think that older women might like this though.
The scent is described as a floral, bergamot and sandalwood combination.
The packaging is really nice on these products and is purple in nature.
While I only bought 3 of the products in this scent, there are a few others that come in this fragrance.
I have the shower gel which costs $10.50 for 10 fl. oz; the body splash which costs $12 for 8 fl oz; and finally the triple moisture cream which also comes in an 8 oz size and retails for $12 as well.
There are also other items like bubble bath, body lotion, body butter, and hand cream as well as a toilette spray that range in prices from around $10 – $30.
I bought mine on sale. I really suggest trying to catch these on sale when they have their “buy 2 get 1 free” type of sale as you can really save money.
I recommend this fragrance to anyone who likes heavier smelling creams and body sprays.
I am really pleased with the lasting power of the cream and spray and the shower gel lathers really well.
The cream is moisturizing as well and great for dry skin or skin that has been slightly dried out from the weather.
