Bicycling has been one of the most known and most loved activities since the 19th century. Many years ago, manufacturers decided to manufacture bikes specifically made for women, and bikes specifically made for men. Since then, the two types have grown apart and have improved on their own. Here is the top 5 women’s bicycles of 2010, all compiled into a convenient list for you.
5. Nirve Women’s Cruiser Bicycle – Nirve makes several types of women’s cruiser bicycles which are made to look like a 1950s American cruiser. Although they try to make them look nice, these bikes are also made of of a lightweight steel allow, with double-spring saddles, full-length fenders, and stainless-steel spokes. Nirve cruisers will cost you about $350-500.
4. Trek Madone 5.0 – A pretty typical bike, the thing I like about it is that the top bar is rather long, which has a good feel to it. The whole bike with 8.1 kgs, looks great, and performs great. The only bad thing is the top bar does not slope like most bikes, which would have been a little more comfortable. The Trek Madone is about $3000.00 new.
3. Electra Women’s Cruiser – Electra is known for their high end cruiser bikes, in particular their Dutch Styled Bikes such as the Super Deluxe Cruiser, and the Amsterdam Sports Custom. These bikes are more popular Europe, as the leg pedals are extended farther for full leg extension. This makes it more comfortable to ride. All models are priced from $700-800.
2. Felt Women’s Cruiser – Felt bikes are made for style, and they always look great. They feature full-coverage fenders, extra wide aluminum rims, and springer saddles that are embossed, along with piping. These sweet rides go for about $500-600$.
And my all time favorite,
1. Greenline Ladies’ Beach Cruisers – Greenline is known for their inexpensive, yet efficient bikes. These bikes are also very nice looking, with full-length fenders, double-spring saddles, and an oversized chrome handle bar. This bike is like a blast from the past. About $220 to buy online.
