Best Tourist Attractions in Boise, Idaho

Ansel Adams, Boise, Boise Idaho, Tourist Attractions

Out of all the enjoyable tourist destinations in the United States, Boise, Idaho is one of the greatest places for a nice, relaxing vacation. Based on my knowledge of the capitol of Idaho and from reading numerous tourist guides, I have created the following list of the best tourist attractions in Boise, Idaho.

Boise Art Museum

For tourists who enjoy going to art museums, the Boise Art Museum is one of the best art museums in the country. This historic museum often features paintings and sculptures that are symbolic of the culture and history of Idaho, and some of the best works from the greatest American photographers are occasionally displayed, including photographs by Ansel Adams. The Boise Art Museum is closed on Mondays, but the museum is opened every Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the first Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information consult this link.

Boise Towne Square Mall

If you are a shopper and would like to go to one of my favorite shopping malls in the United States, then I would highly recommend the Boise Towne Square Mall. Built in 1988 and featuring more than 150 stores, the Boise Towne Square Mall is an excellent destination for food, retail stores and family bonding. On an unfortunate note, the mall has lost some of its well-known retail stores due to bankruptcy, but shrewd shoppers should still go to this visitor attraction because it is well-known for being one of the largest and least expensive malls in the Northwest. The official website of this great Boise attraction is available here.

Idaho State Capitol

As a history guru, one of my favorite tourist attractions in Boise, Idaho is the Idaho State Capitol. Commonly referred to as one of the biggest buildings in Idaho, the capitol building was opened in 1912 and the Golden Statue of George Washington is a must-visit for tourists when they journey into the historic building. Additional information on the history of the Idaho State Capitol can be found here.

The Morrison-Knudsen Nature Center

Another one of my favorite tourist attractions in Boise is the Morrison-Knudsen Nature Center. This beautiful nature centers features waterfalls, fishing areas, and other wildlife exhibits. My favorite wildlife animals that tourists are usually able to watch near the Boise River Greenbelt are foxes and Great Blue Herons. Tony’s Pizzeria Teatro

If you are feeling hungry after visiting the previous tourist attractions in Boise that were mentioned, Tony’s Pizzeria Teatro is one of the best pizzerias in Idaho. Located on 103 Capitol Boulevard, Tony’s Pizzeria Teatro serves delectable focaccia bread, numerous types of pizza, salads and calzones. The restaurant does not deliver, but patrons can make reservations and I strongly recommend making a reservation for a future visit. You may contact by phone (208-343-1052). The Boise Weekly published an insightful restaurant review and that can be found here.
