South Shore Baseball Club. The Varitek Camp will cost you $799 for overnight participants and $499 for daytime campers. Perhaps you are looking for a camp that is a little more basic, with less frills and a lot less expense. To the south of Boston in what is called the South Shore instructional summer day camps are available that may well meet your needs and promise not to break the bank.
One week sessions are run in both the town of Cohasset and Braintree while four consecutive camp weeks are held in nearby Hingham. Named for the former magician of Red Sox behind the scenes wheeling and dealing, Dan Duquette, the Sports Academy offers young people a chance to develop their skills and improve their ability to enjoy the game of baseball.
The Sports Academy welcomes players between the ages of 7-18 and promises a staff to camper ration of 1to 5. Instruction is provided by NCAA and Major League players and coaches.
