Best Seats at Dodger Stadium

Dodger Stadium

Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine is one of the best places to take in a major league baseball game. Here are some recommendations for the best seats at Dodger Stadium:

5) Next to the Dodger Bullpen

The Dodgers bullpen is in the left field corner past the foul pole. Left field pavilion section 301 is the seating section immediately next to the bullpen. If you have a seat along the rail or field wall, you can literally reach out and touch the Dodgers relievers. This section is a magnet for home run balls hit by right-handed pull hitters (particularly the VIP seats in the front rows of the section). During pre-game batting practice, it is not unusual to see a dozen balls being hit into the area. In addition, before the game starts you can ask one of the pitchers in the bullpen for an autograph.

Left Field Pavilion Section 301. $18 face price.
Left Field Pavilion Section 301 MVP. $22 face price.

4) Dugout Club

The Dugout Club is the high priced luxury seating for the LA Dodgers. While expensive, sitting in these seats can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Dugout Club seats are next to the field between the bases. The front row of this section is as close to a major league game as you can get. While the seats behind home plate let you call balls and strikes, sitting next to one of the team dugouts will let you eavesdrop on the players and coaches during the game. The seats come with included food and beverages and you can expect first class service for the entire game. You can frequently find tickets for this section below face value through corporate promotions or on the secondary market for weekday games against non-premium opponents.

3) Pavilion VIP

The Pavilion VIP seats are the front row of the bleacher sections in the outfield. These seats are where you sit to catch home runs. If you decide to buy one of these good seats in Dodger Stadium, be sure to arrive for pre-game batting practice. During the half hour of each team’s batting practice, you will see every third or fourth ball hit into these sections. Although pricier than the seats immediately behind them, the VIP section is well worth the price difference for you to be in the front row.

2) Field Box

The Field Box MVP and VIP seats are between the bases, behind the Dugout Club. At one-fifth the price of a Dugout Club seat, these are a great alternative if you are looking for a great seat in Dodger Stadium. The seats behind home plate are the best in this section as you get a premiere view of the pitcher. Sitting here will let you identify the pitches as they are released from the pitcher’s hand and you can literally see the speed differential between fastballs and off-speed pitches.

1) Top Deck

The top deck of Dodgers Stadium is about as far from the field as you can get at any major league ballpark. Located on the fifth tier of the stadium, between the bases, the top deck seats provide a birds-eye view of the game below. The top deck seats still count among the best seats at Dodgers Stadium because they are incredibly cheap and still provide plenty of opportunity to wander around the concourses. The best reason to sit in the top deck is to take in a stunning, panoramic view of Chavez Ravine. The view is akin to being on a 30 story building, looking out over a beautiful landscape. If you scour the secondary market, you can usually find a top deck seat for less than $5 for weekday games and $10 for weekends.
