Best Holiday Cocktail Party Invitations

Cocktail Party

Cocktail parties are one of my favorite events to host during the holidays. I consider them mini-parties because they take less effort to plan and host than other types of parties. You don’t need to worry about serving a full meal like you would for a Christmas dinner party. A few choice appetizers will do. Drinks are essential for cocktail parties, but you can serve them from a buffet or a mix-it-yourself bar. There’s no need to think about party games as the entertainment is the socializing itself. Most of the time, little or no decorations are required. With so little needed, it’s no surprise that cocktail parties can be light on your pocketbook. And since cocktail parties are for grown-ups only, it’s a great excuse to get away from the kids for a few hours during the rush of the holiday season. Get your guests ready to raise a glass in Christmas cheer with these invitations:

#1 Bartender Extraordinaire:
A look at one of these holiday invitations and your guests will know instantly that they’re going to a Christmas cocktail party. On the left side, a large red border filled with holly sets an unmistakably holiday mood. On the bottom right corner are three cocktail essentials: a cocktail shaker, a wine glass, and a martini glass – each decorated in festive red and white patterns. Your personalized text is printed in the white area to the left of the holly border. Ten custom invitations are sold for $19.20 at Baby Cachet.

#2 Martini Lady:
This invitation is almost entirely covered in red except for a silhouette of a woman in a green strapless top holding a martini glass. A thin white line form borders along the top and bottom. Faint dark red snowflakes can be seen in the background. Your text is printed on the left hand side. Each invitation costs about $1.80.

#3 Cocktail Aficionado:
This cocktail party invitation is covered in Christmas green with a dash of red and white. The green area, which covers three-quarters of the invitation, is where your text is printed. Along the bottom is a border of red, white, and green diamond-like pattern. Positioned prominently above the bottom border to entice your guests are three cocktail glasses decorated with holiday patterns. A set of ten invitations is priced at just under $20.

#4 Celebrate:
This 5″x7″ invitation is offered as a fill-in with an option to add some personalized text. For about $37, you’ll get 10 fill-in invitations with 10 pink lined envelopes. Preprinted on the invitation are the headings “Join Us”, “Date & Time”, “Place”, and “RSVP”. The preprinted text is done in gold foil. Along the bottom is a fairly large collection of line drawings of wine glasses, wine bottle, party hats, cakes, and other icons associated with a holiday party.

#5 Cocktails:
A single lavender cocktail glass with a cherry on top graces the front of this invitation. On the back, the same cocktail glass in a smaller rendition is repeated to form a border across the bottom. The rest of the invitation is reserved for your text, which makes this invite great if you have a fair amount of wording. Nine dollars will get you a pack of eight invites with your choice of colored envelopes.
