Baking Bread with the Sunbeam Expressbake Breadmaker Model 5833

Baking Bread, Bread Machine

Buying a bread machine was something I had on my list of things to buy whenever I had spare money in the checking account. I kept putting off buying one as long as I could because little unexpected things kept popping up in the budget, but then I found the Sunbeam 5833 Model 58 Minute Expressbake Breadmaker. This bread machine was priced at $34.00 at Walmart and it didn’t take me long to scoop one up at a bargain price. I was expecting to pay a lot more for a bread machine but after reading the specifications, I decided to give this one a try. I knew my husband wouldn’t complain because he loves hot, fresh baked bread!

I was excited about using my new Sunbeam Expressbake Breadmaker and also picked up several bread mixes while at the store to break in my new toy. I decided to wait until later to experiment with recipes from scratch because I wanted to bake some bread right now! I unpacked my Sunbeam Expressbake Breadmaker when I got home, rinsed and wiped the basket dry with a dishcloth and set to work. I found a nice size user manual inside the box that also included several recipes. In browsing through the manual I noticed a very helpful section on “Troubleshooting” not only for the appliance but also for help with your bread if it does not turn out as it is supposed to! I was certain that I would be referring to this manual sooner or later. The recipes looked delightful and I was eager to break this baby in and bake some bread!

Using the Sunbeam ExpressBake

After rinsing and drying the baking pan you next attach the kneading blade, measure your ingredients and pour them into the bread pan starting with your liquids. After all the liquid ingredients are in you will next add the dry ingredients. Add the yeast as your last addition in the ingredients. Put your pan in the breadmaker and close the lid. Program your Sunbeam Expressbake for time, select kind of crust you desire (light, medium or dark). And now you are ready to bake bread, press START and your bread will begin to bake.

The Sunbeam ExpressBake is very easy to clean up. The non-stick pan will virtually wipe clean with a damp cloth and a quick rinse. The blade is a bit tougher but comes clean with a short soak in warm to hot soapy water.

What I Like About the Sunbeam Expressbake!

Of course what I like the best is the fresh, hot, home-cooked bread. I am still experimenting with different recipes but we have enjoyed them all. I love the handy manual with recipes too! The tips and hints that it contains, as well as, the “trouble-shooting” guide is very helpful. You will also find a few blank pages in the back of the manual for you to record personal notes or add your personal recipes. This machine has been in service now for well over a year. I have had no major problems with the functions of the machine and it works just as good today as the very first time I used it.

Overall Thoughts on the Sunbeam Expressbake

I really didn’t expect this kind of performance out of a $34.00 bread machine. This model works great and bakes a wonderful loaf of bread. The baked loaf comes out perfect and a great compliment to any meal. You can’t go wrong on this model for the price.
