Backyard Bigfoot Photo Taken in Kentucky

Clayton County

WTHR reported Tuesday that a Kentucky man photographed a Bigfoot in his back yard. Dubbed the “Backyard Bigfoot,” the image is making its way around the internet. Kenny Mahoney of Fairdale, Kentucky, took the camera photo of an unidentified animal, sometimes referred to as a cryptid, that appeared to be sitting in his back yard. But Kenny Mahoney did not get a good look at the creature. Neither did his camera. But the image is being described as that of a blurry Bigfoot.

The Kentucky backyard Bigfoot looks every bit like a sitting gorilla. It looks to have massive arms and a rounded head. It seems to be covered with black fur. Mahoney told WTHR that, to him, it looks like it has the outline of a head, gorilla-like shoulders and has its arms crossed. He said it looks as if it might be at least six feet tall.

Notice the word “gorilla” in the description…

Mahoney’s wife sent the “backyard Bigfoot” photo to a bear specialist who said that it definitely had black fur but they did not think it was a bear. From the photo, they had no idea what it was, either.

Every once in a while,” Mahoney said, “I think something’s impossible, and they catch a prehistoric fish every once in awhile. I don’t ever rule anything out, but I say it’s a long shot for Big Foot to be living in my backyard in Fairdale.”

Even though he isn’t sure what it is, Kenny Mahoney knows that it is raiding his garden.

Although the Kentucky “backyard Bigfoot” has become an internet sensation, it seems to suffer from the same unfortunate problem that all Bigfoot photos and videos, backyard or otherwise, suffer from — poor picture clarity. Still, the figure most resembles a hunched gorilla and probably is one. Or someone in a life-like gorilla suit. As most photographers and cryptid hunters (the professionals, not the internet jockeys), blurry images are great at hiding the details of phoniness.

But the Kentucky backyard Bigfoot and its photographer, Kenny Mahoney, regardless if the photo is an actual picture of a living, breathing animal or not, towers above last year’s Georgia Bigfoot story in credibility, right from the very beginning.

Kenny Mahoney is not attempting to sell people on his backyard Bigfoot as being real. And therein lies the credibility of the photo. He isn’t saying that it is definitely a Bigfoot. It might be… It might not be.

Last year, Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer went through the charade of an announcement, DNA tests, and a press conference before they were revealed as frauds. Whitton, who was a Clayton County (Georgia) police officer was dismissed from his job because of his involvement in the hoax. He and Rick Dyer later defended their actions as a big joke that got out of hand because of a third party promoter.

But Bigfoot hunters can take heart. The Austrian Times reported that a young man traveling through the Tatra Mountains in Poland captured a large, hairy creature’s image on his camera. The young Bigfoot discoverer handed the footage over to experts for study and analysis.

Actually, the big loping figure in the video looks somewhat like a gorilla as well.
