Avon Naturals Gardenia Body Spray

Avon Naturals, Body Spray

Avon Naturals Gardenia Body Spray comes in a 8.4 ounce plastic bottle, which reminds me of a hairspray bottle. It has the non-aerosol pump top, and has a very pale yellow color. The front of the bottle shows a picture of a gardenia flower, and the label says that this is a conditioning body spray.

Avon claims that this body spray will leave your body feeling cool, refreshed and lightly scented.

Ingredients

SD Alcohol 40-B, water, fragrance, gardenia Florida extract, lilium candidum bulb extract, sunflower seed extract, melia azadirachta seed extract, grape seed extract, triclosan, benzophenone-3, yellow 5, red 4, ext. violet 2.

Thoughts

I have also used Avon’s Gardenia Shower Gel, and it smells amazing, which is what prompted me to purchase this body spray.

Avon has this one pretty close to the real smell of the gardenia. I have a gardenia perfume from Hawaii, and this conditioning body spray smells amazingly similar. In fact, you could use this as a light perfume if you so desired.

When I spray this on, I do it very lightly, and the scent lasts for hours. I also use it in my bathroom as a air freshener. It actually works very good, and the bathroom stays smelling like gardenia’s for a long time afterward. The spray comes out in a nice mist, so it’s easy to get just the right amount on your body or in the air.

One caution that I would mention is that this spray does irritate my throat and lungs if I breathe in the vapors, so I always mist lightly and when I use it as an air freshener, I do it as I am leaving the bathroom and I let the particles settle. You don’t want to get this in your eyes, it burns!

In looking at the ingredients, Avon has done a better job with this than some of the other products in their “naturals line. It actually contains four natural extracts, and those ingredients are listed at the beginning rather than at the end of the list, meaning there is a higher concentration of them in the product.

This body spray isn’t moisturizing, so if you want to use a moisturizer with this one, it would be best to use an unscented variety, or use a gardenia scented lotion.

The retail cost for this body spray is $9.00, but Avon always has sales on their products, and I picked this up for half that price. If you are interested in giving it a try, watch for sales, because more than likely, sooner or later it will be on sale. Ask you Avon lady to inform you when it does go on sale.

I really like this spray, it smells like a light gardenia perfume. I actually use this more than I do my gardenia perfume from Hawaii, because it has a milder scent. The perfume is a little bit overpowering.

If you love the smell of gardenia’s, you might want to give this one a try.
