A Review of Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup

Camouflage, Dermablend, Makeup Foundation

For me, Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup was the pot of gold at the end of a very long rainbow of not-quite-natural make-up shades. If you’ve been struggling to find a foundation that covers facial imperfections and matches your natural skin tone, Sacha’s Camouflage Makeup could be a solution for you, too.

The benefits of this foundation come primarily from two factors: it’s yellow-based and it has a high pigment content. The problem with most foundations is that they’re red-based. Most people’s skin, on the other hand, is yellow-based. This difference is what causes that mismatch of face and neck color you see some women walking around with. All skin-toned make-up from Sacha cosmetics is yellow-based, so it will blend naturally with your skin.

Another reason Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup works so well for covering skin color flaws is the pigment content. Average foundations have a fairly low pigment content because they’re meant to be applied lightly enough to let the skin color underneath shine through. Well, if you have rosacea, vitiligo, a birthmark or any other color problem, you don’t really want your skin color shining through. Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup is designed to cover the underlying skin color, so it has more pigment than average.

This also means it takes less time to apply make-up to cover facial flaws because just a little bit can cover a lot of skin. The only problem with this is that if you’ve been trying to get thinly pigmented make-up to cover your skin flaws, you’re probably used to apply it fairly heavily. The first few times I used Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup, even once I found the right shade, I accidentally made myself look like a painted doll by applying this foundation as thickly as I would any other. Take care not to do this. Camouflage Makeup really will look very much like natural skin if you apply it correctly. Put it on too thickly, though, and it will look artificial even if the shade is right.

Staying power
It you’ve had trouble with your make-up smudging in the rain or humidity, you’ll like Sacha foundations. This stuff stays put. In fact, as I discovered by accident, even if your whole face is splashed with water, you can blot it dry again with very little damage to the look of your foundation. Some people, however, have reported that the
Camouflage Makeup has a tendency to “melt” in the heat. Summer temperatures where I live can get over 100 F and I’ve not had problems with this even after being out in the heat for a while. If your skin tends to be oily, though, heat may present a problem. In this case, you can use Sacha’s Fix It Spray to refresh your foundation during the day.

I got these long-lasting results even with out the Sacha’s Setting Powder. Given that the Setting Powder is nearly as expensive as the foundation itself, I decided to forego it when I first tried the Sacha foundation. I used another cosmetic line’s powder and it worked just fine. Do keep in mind, though, that if you’re trying to cover up facial redness or avoid looking two-toned, Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup foundation will do the trick, but if you use a red-based powder (as most drug store brands are) on top of it, you’ll end up looking red again. For this reason, you may want to go with Sacha’s yellow-based powder.

As smudge-proof as this foundation is, it’s still easy to remove. Although Sacha sells a Cleanser/Remover especially for this foundation, I’ve found ordinary facial cleansers remove it easily. By easily, I mean you won’t have to rub and risk damaging your skin to get the make-up off. I have run into oil-based make-up that I almost had to scrub to remove, but Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup isn’t like this.

Good for sensitive skin?
Interestingly, I found that the redness in my face lightened considerably once I switched to Sacha cosmetics. Even though my previous brand was the best one I’d found up to that point, apparently it was irritating my skin. The Sacha cosmetics line seems much gentler. This is something to consider if you want to cover acne or rosacea redness without further irritating your skin.

A shade for every skin tone
Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup comes in 12 different shades. In the reviews I’ve read, rarely did anyone complain of having a problem choosing the right shade based on the photos at the Sacha Cosmetics Web site. Even so, I highly recommend ordering one of the three-shade tester kits first. The kits may look small, but given how efficient this make up is, the amount of each color is enough for two or three applications over the entire face (that is, two or three days of use).

Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup may cost a little more than some of the drug store brands, but it also performs a lot better. You’ll not only get more natural looking results, but because you won’t have to use as much each day, may also save money in the long run. When you consider how much other “serious” cover up brands like Dermablend and Coverblend cost, you can see the Sacha line prices aren’t bad.

So, if you’re tired of unnatural looking foundation or thin cover up that doesn’t cover anything, give Sacha Cosmetics Camouflage Makeup a try. You don’t have to waste time and energy wondering if you look two-toned or feeling self-conscious about your less-than-flawless skin when there’s makeup that works this well.
