A New Liver Detox Cleanse

Detox Cleanse, Toxins

Do coffee enema’s work? What would I need one? What is a liver detox cleanse?

These are the questions people ask when they first hear about coffee enemas. For those who are not familiar with them, the idea may sound strange. Why would we take something we usually drink, and then stick it in our butt? Perhaps a bit crude, but essentially that is what a coffee enema is. Taking coffee, and putting it in our butt. Now why would we do that?

One answer to this question is “liver detox cleanse”. The idea was made popular by Max Gerson a German physician who created a special diet as part of treatment used to cure cancer. The effectiveness of Gerson Therapy is a highly controversial subject which I will not address. I’m just talking about coffee enemas here. But the point stands that coffee enemas started as and are still used as a liver detox cleanse.

The reason you might need a liver detox cleanse is because of toxin buildup in our bodies. The food we eat, water we drink, and the air we breathe is full of toxins (some natural, some not). In modern society we meet these toxins everywhere and over time they build up in our bodies. One of the liver’s jobs is to filter out these toxins to be expelled as waste. Toxins are filtered through our liver, and bile then carries these toxins to the large and small intestines which are then expelled as urine or feces. Because of the enormous amount of toxic materials we consume every day, the liver can’t handle all of these toxins – so an occasional liver detox cleanse can help our bodies function more healthily.

Coffee enemas can be used for a liver detox cleanse because the help stimulate the liver, creating more bile, and thus releasing more toxins. Because it is brewed like a normal cup of coffee it contains caffeine. The caffeine in coffee stimulates veins and tissue around the anus, and the coffee is absorbed quicker and in greater amounts than if you were to drink it. The enzymes in coffee, known as palmitates, help the liver carry away the toxins in bile acid. Combined the fact that peristaltic activity is encouraged because of the flooding of the lower colon, coffee, bile, and toxins are carried out of the body when the enema is complete.

NOTE: If you’re not into the technical medical mumbo jumbo it’s basically; 1. Coffee in your butt, 2. Coffee in your liver 3. Goodbye toxins

Especially if you’re a first timer, doing a liver detox cleanse coffee enema can be a bit embarrassing, so many choose to perform this procedure in the comfort of their own home. This can make the process more relaxing, and cheaper, epically if you plan to follow a program of regular enemas. There are of course things to watch out fore, mainly the temperature of the coffee. Though it’s great to have a boiling cup of hot coffee in the morning, that same boiling cup could really damage you if used in an enema. Room temperature or slightly warm coffee is recommended. If you’re not sure, start on the safe side and use a cooler temperature. With experience you’ll be able to find a temperature that’s right for you and your anus.
