5 Must Have Apps for Google Nexus 7

Nexus 7, Utorrent

As soon as you get your Google Nexus 7 out of the box, turned on, and you have sufficiently played around with the stock features of the tablet. You will want to get some apps on it, with over 600,000 apps to choose from you might wonder what some of the best ones are. There are at least 100 GREAT apps but there are 5 that you must haves for your Nexus 7. These 5 apps will make your experience with the Google tablet so much better.

1. MX Player

MX Media Player is the first application you should install, the default media player on the Nexus 7 is mediocre and that is being nice. It plays very minimal video file types and formats and you will often be greeted with a file not supported message with your media files you try to play. I have no fount a single file that MX Media Player wont play, I have played HD movies from iTunes, Movies from the Google Play store, some I ripped from my DVD collection and various other videos with no problems. This app is going to make your life so much easier when playing media on the Nexus 7.

2. John NES Lite

John NES Lite is a NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) Emulator, which gives you the ability to play all of your old school favorite NES games. With the Nexus 7 having a quad core processor playing 8-bit games almost seems silly, but this app will bring you back to your childhood. I love playing Contra and Super Mario 3 on my Nexus 7 this app is a must have.

3. uTorrent Beta

uTorrent Beta is a torrent app that lets you download torrent files directly to your Nexus 7. Its just like the popular desktop version of the software but instead of using the desktop version to download the files and then take the time to transfer the files to your Nexus 7, you can directly download the files directly to your Nexus 7.

4. textPlus Free Text + Calls

textPlus Free Text + Calls might be the best app, this app allows you to send text messages to all of your cell contacts using your data or WiFi connection. The only catch is you will want to give your contacts a heads up who you are, the app assigns you a number local to your area so they might not realize who you are. This is a handy app, it makes it so you don’t have to use your cell to text message.

5. PdaNet Tablet & FoxFi

PdaNet Tablet is a great app if you have a cell phone you want to share the data connection with your Nexus. This requires the free FoxFi app on your cell phone, this will allow you to share your data connection with your Nexus 7. PdaNet will allow you to connect your Nexus to your cell phone data connection via Bluetooth or wireless connection. This is helpful for Nexus 7 owners who have the WiFi only model and need data while away from a WiFi connection.

These are the 5 must have apps for the Google Nexus 7 that will significantly enhance your user experience with the device. These apps will help make your Nexus more useful and user friendly.
