The HDMI Splitter 1×2 is a simple solution to duplicate your high definition source that supports HDMI v1.3b and up to 1440p video along with LPCM, Dolby DTS-HD master audio and even 3D content at 1080p. The Sewell HDMI Splitter comes with the splitter itself, a power adapter and a small instruction guide for using the HDMI splitter but the size of the splitter is what amazes me at only 2.5 by 2.75 inches and 3/4 inches tall.

The Sewell HDMI Splitter takes an HDMI input signal and outputs both video and audio to two output connections so you can view the signal source on two different displays from the single input source. The Splitter uses version 1.3 of the HDMI specifications that supports the higher clock rate but more importantly the Sewell splitter supports 3D which is not a usual feature of version 1.3.

The Splitter is a very small size at only 2.5 by 2.75 inches and about 3/4 of an inch tall with an HDMI connection and the power connection on one side and the two output HDMI connections on the other side. The Sewell HDMI Splitter does come in several other connection options of four, eight and sixteen HDMI output connections for a wide amount of connection options.

The Sewell HDMI Splitter works simply by powering it using the included power adapter and plugging the source HDMI to the Input connection and any two monitors or televisions to the output side for exact duplication of the input. I used the Sewell HDMI Splitter on computers, Blu-ray and DVD players watching movies and gaming without problems.

I did not notice any lag or delay while gaming and watching movies or television using the HDMI Splitter and had no problems with audio and video separately, using the splitter I did connect it to use for video only while gaming on a computer as well as watching movies. The splitter handles the video and audio quite easily and works without incident and without problems and does handle HDCP support for computer and high definition content protection.

Using my computer I can easily have no problem playing and detecting the monitors and getting confirmation that the monitor is HDCP compliant and handles the signals without issue. The Sewell HDMI Splitter is a simple solution but is not a lightweight device or cheaply built because the body is solid steel construction both top and bottom for maximum protection of the single circuit board inside.

I opened the box and the top half with the two sides that the top is made of is screwed onto the bottom half which has the mounts for the top along with the circuit board and connections. The design and build is very compact and tough with the thick metal design that reminds me very much of solidly built components used by the military that was built to withstand abuse.

The Sewell HDMI Splitter is a great way to split your HDMI signal for use with two monitors but they do not allow you to do anything but mirror the screens of a computer or other source. The Sewell HDMI Splitter works exceptionally well for mirroring computers or movies for things like using one computer or Blu-ray player to view on separate screens in separate rooms, classes or for business meetings.

I highly recommend the Sewell HDMI Splitter for a great way to connect two monitors or television screens from a single source at the low cost of about $25 and is available at Sewell Direct and sites like Amazon.
