2012 NFL Week 14 Predictions and Picks

Rg3

It’s time for my 2012 NFL week 14 predictions and picks. The week kicks off on Thursday with a battle between the Broncos and Raiders in Oakland. Can Peyton Manning continue his comeback season on the road as the season continues? Manning has been as tough on the road as at home and I don’t see that being interrupted this week. Peyton tosses 3 touchdown passes with 2 interceptions but it’s enough for the Broncos to win on the road 27-17. Knowshown Moreno adds 83 yards in the win.

The 2012 NFL week 14 schedule continues on Sunday. St. Louis heads to Buffalo to play the Bills. This is about as unpredictable as it comes. The Rams are hard to predict on a weekly basis as are the Bills. Buffalo should win at home but I wouldn’t be completely shocked with a Rams upset. Still, I think the Bills put enough points on the board to win 26-23. Sam Bradford is picked off on a potential game winning drive in the 4th.

Dallas visits Cincinnati in what could be an interesting matchup. The Cowboys desperately need the win but the Bengals have certainly matured this season. I think the Bengals find a way to win in the end with a 31-23 victory. Andy Dalton tosses 2 touchdown passes and runs for another in the win.

Kansas City is at Cleveland in a battle of teams that are destined for high lottery picks in the NFL draft. I think the Browns romp here in a 26-10 victory. Brandon Weeden fires 3 touchdown passes in the win.

Indianapolis hosts Tennessee in other Sunday early action on the week 14 schedule. My predictions and picks for this one? I think the Colts should get a big game from Andrew Luck. The rookie bounces back from a multiple interception game in Detroit with a 4 touchdown performance in week 14. Luck passes for 293 yards and the Colts win 34-20.

Chicago hits the road to play at Minnesota. The Bears could use a critical road win to stay ahead of Green Bay in their division. My predictions and picks say it’ll happen. Adrian Peterson gets 2 touchdowns and 123 yards but the Bears find a way to win at the end. Robbie Gould drills a game winning field goal with :03 left as the Bears win 20-17.

Philadelphia visits Tampa Bay in what would seem like a Buc win on paper. The Eagles struggle with 4 more turnovers as Tampa wins 23-13.

Baltimore is in Washington to try and slow down the Robert Griffin led Redskins. The Ravens defense struggles to slow down RG3 and the Redskins win 27-20. Ray Rice tallies 2 touchdowns in the loss for Baltimore.

Carolina hosts Atlanta in what seemingly will be a Falcon victory. But my predictions and picks say this one will be extremely close. In fact, I think the Falcons have to win in overtime on a Matt Bryant field goal. Atlanta escapes with a 27-24 win.

Jacksonville welcomes the New York Jets on the week 14 schedule. The Jags play close but no cigar with a 23-21 loss to the Jets. The Jags fumble 3 times in the loss.

San Diego heads to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers. The Chargers could use a road win but I don’t think it’s happening in Pittsburgh. The Steel Curtain rises to intercept Philip Rivers 4 times in a 26-13 win.

San Francisco hosts Miami in other week 14 action. The Dolphins could be in for a long day on the road. San Francisco forces 5 turnovers and beats the Dolphins 31-9.

Seattle welcomes Arizona elsewhere. The Seahawks are much tougher at home and they show it here. Russell Wilson fires 3 touchdown passes, 2 to Golden Tate, in the 27-13 win.

The New York Giants host New Orleans in another matchup. Can the Saints win a tough and critical game on the road? I don’t think the Cards are stacked for a New Orleans win here. The Giants get 3 touchdown passes from Eli Manning as the Giants win a shootout 31-27.

The Green Bay Packers host the Detroit Lions on Sunday night. The Packers need more of the Lambeau leap to keep up with the Bears. That’s exactly what happens. 4 different players get to leap for the Packers in the 38-23 win. Aaron Rodgers runs one touchdown in and passes for 3 more–but he elects not to leap.

On Monday, New England hosts Houston in what should easily be the game of the week. The Patriots put up 34 points on the typically decent defensive Texans. Pats win 34-20. Tom Brady fires 3 touchdown passes and tallies 345 yards.

That’s it for my 2012 NFL week 14 predictions and picks. I’ll return in week 15 for another round of predictions and picks.
