Step One: Look at the Name, Birth date, sex, description and address on the identification card
When checking a California ID or drivers license first look at all the information on the id. This includes checking the person’s name, birth date, sex, description and address. Step Two: Look at the picture

Step Seven: Holograms
The final step is to look for the holograms on the California ID. On the front of the Id there are three reflective seals which are The Seal of California. Then there is a bigger seal that is in white on the front of the ID. There is also a secret hologram that can only be seen on the California ID but only through looking at it with a black light or also known as an ultraviolet light. This hologram is a picture of the California flag. If you cannot see one or any of these holograms then it is not real.
