Milwaukee’s baseball season is right around the corner and for some us during tougher economic times like now, our entertainment budgets are shrinking. Don’t despair Brewer Fans, there are several options to obtain tickets from a substantial discount to even free. Here are five tips that will get you into Miller Park without breaking your wallet.
5. C’mon Back Club Promotion at BP Gas Stations – Most of us need to buy gas to get around, so why not use it to your advantage to get free Brewer tickets? Currently, at participating BP Gas Stations throughout Wisconsin, for every gas purchase (minimum eight gallons) you get a stamp on a card. Once six stamps are collected, it can be exchanged for a free Reserved Terrace ticket to select games. If one is crafty, purchasing only the minimum eight gallons at a time and doing multiple fill ups instead of a onetime weekly larger fueling can you get you tickets even quicker. The participant also has the option to exchange the completed card for a discount off other reserved seats closer to the playing field, so there are great options to save either way. But don’t wait too long, it is very popular and many games sell out by early summer and you must redeem your tickets prior to the day of the game. 4. Bernie’s Terrace – If you’re on a budget and just want to make the game and have no qualms being the farthest seat from the playing field, Bernie’s Terrace are for you. The tickets are only $4 each but located on the third level of Miller Park in the Left Field Corner. You’ll be directly across from the porch where the team’s mascot Bernie Brewer is located as an added bonus. Sure, the seats are not the best, but being able to see a professional baseball game for four bucks is quite a deal. Like all of the other promotions, Bernie’s Terrace is very popular and sellout fast, so don’t waste time ordering tickets. 3. Miller High Life Promotional Games – If you are at Miller Park, you must live the High Life right? For six select dates during the 2010 season (April 6, May 25, June 28, July 7, August 11, and September 22), Terrace Reserved seats are only $6. If ordered early, many of the Terrace Reserved seats offer excellent viewing of the game. Once again, the games sell out fast so plan accordingly. 2. DQ Family Days – Every Sunday game at Miller Park has a select number of promotional Terrace Reserved tickets available for $13.50 that include a coupon for a free hot dog and small soda and a coupon for a buy one, get one free Blizzard treat at participating Dairy Queen locations. 1. After-Market Resellers – Many ticket agents purchase season tickets and resell popular games (for example, bobblehead promotions, weekends, or premium games versus the Cubs) for an inflated rate. Meanwhile, less popular game tickets or last minute sales are generally 50% or more less than face value. If you are savvy, there are great deals that will save you a lot of money. I’ve had great success purchasing tickets at dramatically reduced prices online over the past several years. But I must stress that purchasing online must be used with extreme caution and safeguarding.
