Unlike many long-lasting lipsticks, this MAX Factor product is not as drying because of the built in moisturizers that actually seem to work! Additionally, many all-day lip colors become dull or “cracked” in appearance as the day wears on. The glosser does a great job of preventing this appearance. Without the gloss, however, lips will feel a bit dry and stiff. The product retails online and at drugstores or discount stores for around $11-$12 USD. Lipfinity 3D offers a great long-lasting option for less than $15.
Clinique Long Last Lipstick
Both the Long Last Soft Shine lipstick and the Long Last Soft Matte lipsticks offer long-wearing options that promise to protect against feathering and drying out. Clinique promises and delivers “hours” of wear time. Clinique’s Long Last Lipstick also has built in moisturizers, but unlike the MAX Factor 3D, this product can become more dull and dried out in appearance throughout a day. To combat that dry look, users would need to purchase two products-both the base lipstick and the Long Last Glosswear. Clinique products are available online and in many department stores. The Long Last Lipstick is priced at around $14 USD. If you choose to add the Glosswear, which comes with a built in SPF 15-expect to add another $14 USD to your lipstick regiment.
L’Oreal Color Endless™ Kissable Zero-Transfer and Extreme Wear Lipstick
The L’Oreal long-lasting lipstick promises to offer a “tattoo effect” that will remain on the lips for up to 8 hours. Enriched with a vitamin E formula, Endless™ Kissable also offers more moisturizers than old school long wearing lip colors. Again, users may need to add a gloss to maintain shine. This lipstick is also a bit more drying than desired and requires a base coat of a lip balm or an additional lip moisturizer. However, priced at around $6 USD, users would be slightly more willing to add a couple of products if L’Oreal offers a favorite staying color.
Lorac Breakthrough Performance Lipstick from Sephora
Sephora terms this product a “multitalented” lip stick. It offers long lasting lip color, plus SPF 15 sun protection, and an exclusive antiaging complex that is intended to stimulate collagen production to create fuller, younger looking lips. The Lorac formula is a cream based lipstick when applies smoothly and wears well. It tends to offer more moisture than many other long wear lipsticks-without synthetic fragrances and harmful chemical additives. It is pricey at around $22 USD and can be found online or in department stores.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick
The Pure Color Lipsticks offer long lasting color with vitamin and oil enriched moisturizers. As with the products already mentioned, the Estee Lauder also dulls after time. Pure Color is a thick lip color that provides better coverage for lips that are already dry or slightly wrinkled. In spite of the coverage, it applies smoothly. This product is also fragranced with a fig scent that can be a drawback to those sensitive to such additives. Pure Color can be purchased online or at major department stores with a retail price of approximately $22 USD. Is the product worth the added price? That would depend on your opinion of the color palette available-and your love of the fig scent.
