4th of July 2009 Events in Orlando

Citywalk, Downtown Orlando, Lake Eola, Seaworld Orlando

Orlando hosts a nightly fireworks celebration and festivities at Disney World and area theme parks, but Fourth of July calls for something a little extra special. Both Universal Studios and the Magic Kingdom host a special patriotic extravaganza complete with live music and entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display. You’ll also find some community events in downtown Orlando and local parks. From Kissimmee to Lake Eola, here are some of the biggest 4th of July events in 2009:

SeaWorld Orlando 4th of July Celebration
Join Shamu and the dolphins for a patriotic fireworks spectacular and a special music event. Shamu and friends are ready to entertain the crowds with some unique routines, and you’ll need to wait until sundown to see the red, white and blue-themed fireworks light up the skies. Get here early so you can explore the parks and see all of the great exhibits and patriotic-themed events throughout the day.

4th of July Celebration at the Magic Kingdom, Orlando
It’s one of the most popular 4th of July destinations each year, so if you have tickets to the Magic Kingdom, you’re in for a real treat. You can enjoy the grand parade down Main Street early in the day, and see all of your favorite characters dressed up in patriotic gear. Wait for the fireworks show over the castle for a breathtaking event. The 2009 Fourth of July spectacular includes a ‘spectromagic’ parade at 10:30 p.m.and 12:30 a.m.

4th of July 2009 Celebration at Lakefront Park, Orlando
The City of Kissimmee sponsors the annual 4th of July spectacular on the Kissimmee Lakefront for local residents and visitors. Head to the park early in the day to enjoy free concerts and food from local vendors. The 4th of July 2009 celebration officially starts at 5 p.m., and it’s a good idea to bring your own blankets, lawn chairs and beverages if you want to stay for the firework show. Lake Eola 4th of July 2009 Celebration
Bring your appetite and plan to spend the entire day at the beautiful Lake Eola park for the 4th of July 2009 celebration. This year’s event will feature dozens of vendors selling BBQ eats, gyros and snacks, and you can enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the day. Lake Eola Park is located at 195 N. Universal CityWalk Fourth of July 2009 Party
Head out for the night to catch the live music events the Bob Marley Restaurant, the Red Coconut Club or the Latin Quarter, then countdown to 10 p.m. to see the spectacular event behind the Plaza Stage or Lagoon Stage at CityWalk. The 4th of July 2009 fireworks kick off at 10 p.m., and all the bars and restaurants in CityWalk will be featuring special menus and happy hour specials throughout the night.
