2013 Disney World Must See Sites

FASTPASS, The Little Mermaid

Disney World has pulled out all the stops for 2013 and it’s the prefect time for trip down to see the Mouse. Here are the top 5 things you need to be sure are on your list.

Magic Kingdom – New Fantasyland – This is the Magic Kingdom’s largest expansion in history. It almost doubles the size of Fantasyland, and I must say it is stunning. Fantasyland land is now just that, a full immerse “land” that surrounds you in every detail.

Must See In Fantasyland:
1 – Enchanted Tales with Bell. This is more than a character meet n’ greet, It is now an interactive personal experience that brings everyone into the story and face to face with Bell and the characters from Beauty and the Beast.

TIP: Go here first thing. There is not a Fastpass option for this attraction and the line grows very long quickly.

2 – The Little Mermaid. This is a fun dark ride that takes you on the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, or is it the Journey of the Little Mermaid? Either way it is delightful and fun for all ages. This attraction runs continuously so the line moves quickly but with it’s popularity it can have a wait time. You can get a Fastpass for this attraction which will allow you to come back and take the Fastpass que all the way to the front of the loading area.

3 – Be Our Guest Dining. Be sure to walk in even if you don’t have a reservation, it’s beautiful. The restaurant is quick service during lunch and table service at night. You will want to have a reservation for dinner or you will not get in. Be Our Guest does take the Disney Dining Plan and tables in wonderland card. It is also the first and only restaurant to serve alcohol in the Magic Kingdom.

TIP: You can and should book 180 out to secure your reservation for dinner. It’s easier to contact your Disney Travel agent than to wait on hold exactly at 180 days before your trip.

4 – Dumbo. This classic attraction is now twice the fun. There are now two dumbos and an interactive que that allows you and your family to play while you wait. When it’s time to ride Dumbo the flying elephant, your beeper will go off and you head on to the ride.

5 Gaston’s Tavern. This ties the story together and is really well done. A large statue stands in the town square, a tribute to the mighty Gaston, from Gaston himself to the town. The tavern serves Le Fou’s Brew, a frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow. Give it a try.
