100th Day of School Crafts for Elementary School Students

100th Day of School, Froot Loops

The 100th day of school is primarily celebrated by elementary school students. It’s fun for younger kids to celebrate that they’re 100 days into a school year. It also gives them a break from their every day normal school routines. If you’re a teacher in need of 100th Day of School craft ideas or if you’re a parent whose students teacher has requested that your child bring in a 100th Day of School project, here are a few suggestions to help you out.

1. 100 Fruit Loop Necklace

You’ll need yarn and a box of fruit loops. Have your child put 100 fruit loops on a piece of yarn. Use a piece of yarn big enough to tie into a necklace when you’re done. Most kids enjoy this craft because they get to eat the cereal off their own personal fruit loop necklace after they’re done with it for school. To make it more fun for the class, have them count from 1 to 100, one at a time and then eating a fruit loop after they count each number.

2. 100 Piece Puzzles

Places like Walmart and even the Dollare store sell 100 piece puzzles for a low price. You could have your child bring a 100 piece puzzle to school as their 100th thing to bring. Or if you’re having your class do this, buy a few 100 piece puzzles and have a group of kids work together to put it together.

3. 100 Paperclips

Clip 100 paperclips together in a chain. If you’re doing this at home, have your child clip them together with your help as needed. If you’re doing this at school, have each child in your class take turns connecting a paperclip until it equals 100. Then have students line up in a line to see how long it is.

4. Draw a self portrait

Have everyone draw a picture of what they think they’d look like at 100 years old. When they children are finished, collect all the papers and go through the pictures one by one, holding them up and passing them out for all the students to see. To celebrate how everyone thinks they’d look at 100, count out 100 chocolate chips and divvy them up between the students. To make sure that everyone gets the same amount, the teacher should get the extras.

5. 100 Balloon Pop

Blow up 100 balloons of various sizes and colors. Have your students guess how long it would take to pop 100 balloons.
Then time them and let the children go crazy with stomping and/or sitting on balloons to pop them.

6. 100 Steps

Take your class on a 100 Step from your classroom around the school. Have each student take a guess as to how far 100 steps will take them from the classroom.

7. 100 Snack Party

For snack, have 100 small snack items per student. Have 10 groups of 10 different snacks. You can offer them each 10 pretzels, 10 goldfish crackers, 10 M&M;’s, 10 raisins, 10 cheerios, 10 grapes, 10 chocolate chips, 10 banana chips, 10 pieces of popcorn, 10 froot loops or whatever snack items you want. I recommend having a small sandwich bag for each student in case they can’t eat all of their 100 items.

8. Macaroni Picture

You’ll need uncooked macaroni. You can dye it yourself with food coloring and let it dry before you hand it out to your students. Give your students 10 of each color, 100 total. Give them a large piece of paper and glue and let them make a special 100th day picture. You’ll need to let these dry. If these have to dry overnight, have the students show off their 100th day picture the following day.
