Fitness Class

Are you a stay at home mom looking to not only make some money, but start a career? Do you love being at home with your children but need to contribute? Here are ten businesses that you can start while staying at home with your kids!

1. In home childcare. This is something that takes time to get approved to do, but once you do it’s easy from there. Some people have daycare’s illegally but still manage to get customers. I would highly recommend going through the state and obtaining a license. You will get customers easier and not have the continuing stress of being found out. If you love children, this is a great option for you!

2. Nanny service. Create a nanny service, either online for parents or in your local area. There are always parents looking for childcare.

3. Sell products on Etsy. What’s your favorite craft to do? Do you have a hobby? Great ideas include scrapbooks, jewelry making, knitting and so much more. Check out the website and see if there’s something you can add.

4. Sell on eBay. You can find anything and sell it on eBay. First, go through your house and collect everything you do not use. Start by selling that. Hit the thrift stores and garage sales. Look at other people’s junk, most of the time what’s junk for them means money online for you. Once you have enough inventory, create a store through eBay.

5. Cleaning company. This is something that you can easily do by yourself or with help. It might be easier to start on your own, build your clients and then recruit other people. Do this the right way and you can make a lot of money! This can easily be done around spouses work schedule, allowing you to still be at home with the children. You can clean residential or commercial areas.

6. Online antique store. Wouldn’t it be fun to go searching for antiques, then turn around and sell them online? You can create your own website dedicated to just this! Antiques are in demand. People are into the vintage, shabby, rustic and antique items now.

7. Fitness class. I immediately think of Zumba, but there are so many more fitness options out there. You can teach a class on yoga, Pilates, jogging with strollers, mommy and baby fitness, dance and so much more! You can also create a class and merge all into one. This is easy to do, you can rent out an area or hold it at your house. Other options could be lake, park or community center.

8. Tutoring. Normally when you hear this, you think of college students. If you are smart and good at teaching, then this could be a real possibility for you.

9. Teach cooking classes from your home. Imagine getting paid to teach your peers to cook! This can be breakfast, dinner, lunch, desserts or anything you can think of!

10. Event/Wedding planning. Help people plan their events or weddings. You can start small, advertising for free on Craigslist or by word of mouth. You can always choose to start huge, start a website, recruit someone to help and jump right into it!

Get creative! Think of something that you have a passion for and just go for it. The internet makes it easy to start a business. If you are determined and stay focus, you can make your dreams of being a stay at home mom and business owner come true.
