Xentec HID Headlights Review

Ballast

HID (high intensity discharge) headlights are becoming more and more popular today in automobiles. Partially because a lot of people like the look of them, and secondly because they provide a brighter, purer light. They are a nice upgrade from stock halogen bulbs and are extremely easy to install, most of the time called plug and play by retailers, because you simply unplug your stock headlights, and plug in your new HID headlights.

There are tons and tons of companies out there making HID headlights claiming that their product is better and brighter and all this nonsense. Well the truth is, obviously, some companies DO produce better quality products than others. The HID bulb I’m reviewing today is from a company called Xenon, and are primarily sold and marketed on Ebay and other online sites.

I purchased my Xenon 6000k HID bulbs with the slim ballasts for just under $40.00 on Ebay around 3 months ago, and I have to admit that I have thoroughly enjoyed the product so far. Price is one of the great things about this brand, seeing that most local car shops are charging around $100.00 for an HID kit , installed and everything ( not the installation is really anything that a moron couldn’t do anyways ) . So for that $40.00, you really get your money’s worth, Xenon makes a suprisingly good quality HID bulb. When i ordered my kit for such a cheap amount, I was expecting to get what I payed for, a cheap HID kit. Boy was I surprised! The Xenon kit is just as good as or better than the $100.00 HIDs that local shops are selling. Once I got them , I had them out of the box and installed within 10 minutes. I loved them instantly and have gotten many comments about how great they look in my accord. I have also noticed a dramatic increase in light when driving at night. I am just absolutely in love with the product.

So what exactly comes in the box you ask? Well inside the nice little Xenon packaging you get: 2 slim ballasts, 2 HID bulbs, and some twist ties to help secure your ballasts under your hood. Once you’ve got your package open, simply take out your stock lightbulbs, plug your ballast into the stock wiring, plug your HID into the ballast, then simply secure your HID bulb into the lighting assembly. Easy as pie!

Now about reliablity and warranty. I have only had one issue with the product over the spam of three months. One night when I got home, I realized that I had a bulb out. So I popped the hood to discover that it appeared one of my ballast had actually exploded, overheated, or something like that. I did not damage the bulb, thankfully, and when I contacted the company, they were happy to send me a new ballast with no questions asked. I got it within 3 business days and have had no problems since. Xenon offers a 1 year warranty, and is a very trustworthy and customer friendly company.

The construction and quality of the material of the product pleased me also. The ballast seem very sturdy, nice and solid. The wiring is not extremely thin, good sized and feels very durable. The kit is fully and completely waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about it getting wet and tearing up on you.

Xenon HID bulbs are a good, reliable, and very affordable product. I have has good experience with the product itself, and the customer service. I would definetly recommend this product to a friend. They improve your visibility at night, and give your car a nice custom look. Xenon gets an A+ on their HID kit. Thanks for reading! 🙂
