WWE Survivor Series
Back when the WWE only had four annual pay-per-views, Survivor Series was one of them. The original concept of large, all-star tag teams caught on with fans and lives on today. Although there is more buzz about the WWE title match at Survivor Series 2012, the inclusion of Team Foley should increase buy rates.
Take a closer look at my predictions for WWE Survivor Series 2012.
3MB vs. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel
This is the Survivor Series free pre-show airing live on multiple outlets. With the WWE’s renewed emphasis on tag team wrestling, I predict 3MB will get a strong push in the upcoming months. I also like the “Freebird Rules” concept of 3MB, meaning that on any given night, nobody knows which two members will take part in the tag team match.
Prediction: 3MB defeat Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel
Divas Championship: Eve vs. Kaitlyn
Frankly, I don’t see many WWE title holders losing their belts at Survivor Series. But it’s hard to justify paying exorbitant funds for a pay-per-view if there aren’t any title changes. So if there must be a couple of new champions crowned, one of them might as well be Kaitlyn. Eve’s scheming, bad girl gimmick is wearing thin in the WWE.
Prediction: Kaitlyn defeats Eve
United State Championship: Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth
R-Truth is one of my favorite wrestlers. While I hate the comedic, entertaining gimmicks of most WWE wrestlers, I can’t help but laugh at R-Truth. Unfortunately, when WWE wrestlers can get over without a belt, they usually don’t get a belt. Antonio Cesaro is doing well as a European U.S. Champion and I predict that will continue at Survivor Series.
Prediction: Antonio Cesaro defeats R-Truth
Team Foley vs. Team Ziggler
After the WWE put CM Punk in a WWE Championship match at Survivor Series, Team Foley’s antagonist became Team Ziggler. I predict Team Foley will send the kids home happy since they will be disappointed at the outcome of John Cena’s match. But Dolph Ziggler may still have a reason to celebrate at Survivor Series.
Prediction: Team Foley defeats Team Ziggler
World Heavyweight Championship: Big Show vs. Sheamus
I’ll admit I was shocked when Big Show became the World Heavyweight Champion. But I firmly believe he is only a transitional champion. I predict Sheamus will defeat Big Show at Survivor Series to regain his title. Then an angry Big Show will destroy Sheamus. Then Dolph Ziggler will finally cash in his MITB briefcase to become the new champion.
Prediction: Dolph Ziggler defeats Sheamus who defeats Big Show
WWE Championship: CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. Ryback
The WWE is in a quandary. They need CM Punk to keep the WWE title at pay-per-views like Survivor Series, but they can’t let Ryback look bad. Enter John Cena in a triple-threat match. This is the easiest prediction for Survivor Series. CM Punk will pin John Cena so he retains his title and Ryback’s supporters can say he wasn’t pinned.
Prediction: CM Punk defeats John Cena and Ryback
