Having a knack, for writing, or better yet, a degree in writing or journalism with fashion experience, is a sure fire way to land a job. Listed below are some opportunities for fashion writers.

E-commerce Description Writer

This is a job that is perfect for someone who has knowledge of clothing styles as well as a knack for describing things well. This person is in charge of writing the descriptions of garments next to the items they sell on line. While this job may not seem very familiar, it is a job that every e-commerce company requires.

Fashion Blogger

This is a job that is becoming more and more popular within fashion corporations. While there are many independent fashion bloggers out there, companies also hire young experienced enthusiast to blog about the fashion in their company. This is a new and youthful approach for reaching an audience, and therefore, jobs for this position are being created virtually everywhere.

Editor

An editorial position is one that is for people who are capable of managing more than one project at a time. There are usually several editors in a magazine which specialize in different things. A fashion editor, is in charge of coming up with themes for stories and using contacting people to participate in a magazine such as photographers, hair stylists, and so forth. Despite the title, there isn’t usually much writing revision going on, but it does happen occasionally.An editor is like the manager of other fashion writers.

This is a person who specializes in a certain area of fashion and is required to write articles on that topic regularly. The topic can range from shoes, to shopping. A copy writer is a person who writes the words in a magazine advertisement. They work closely with the advertising team and rewrite slogans in advertisements. Their job is to use the right words to make a product seem more appealing. While this may seem like a simple task they have to work under tremendous pressure and strict deadlines. if you are a perfectionist this may be a dream job.

Freelance Writer

A freelance writer can be writing for a newspaper one day and a magazine the next. Either way, there are many opportunities for freelance writers. While there is much freedom in freelance writing, there is also much unreliability. Getting paid in small increments throughout the month can take a toll on you when you have bills to pay. So keep this in mind as well.

Researcher

A researcher is in charge of finding facts about a topic that a writer is writing about. While this may not seem like that exciting of a job, half the point of writing is researching things to write about. This is an important job and can be found at several companies.

Fact Checker

This is a person who reads over articles and makes sure that the facts included in it are correct. This can be considered a combination of an editor and researcher. While they do not receive credit for an article, they are compensated handsomely.
