Working Solutions, from what I have been told by a number of people who work from home, is one of the best work at home companies around. They treat their workers very well, the pay is decent, the training is thorough, and they have a wide range of clients that enable home workers to wok a variety of different types of jobs. Although I have never worked for them, I strongly believe they are, at least, one of the best work from home companies.
The different types of work include customer service – inbound and outbound, transcription, data entry, and typing. Working Solutions is completely telecommuting – there is no actual building where the company is located everyone who works for the company works from their home including top-level management. The company is similar to an employment agency, a virtual employment agency that contracts with clients or companies to hire workers, in this case, home workers or telecommuters.
There are no fees at all associated with working for Working Solutions. You will need a reliable, up to date computer, a second line with no options, if you apply for a phone position, high-speed Internet access, a printer, and possibly the ability to receive faxes. Your computer will need to have at least 128 MB of RAM, a 350 Mhz processing speed, a reliable anti-virus program, and Windows XP.
Unfortunately, Macintosh computers are not acceptable. You will not have any long distance charges either. You will also need a reliable headset, which is the case for most work from home phone jobs. You can find these at a very inexpensive price at Radio Shack, Best Buy, or some place like that. If you apply for a transcription job, you will need a foot pedal.
You let the company know when you can work and how many hours you like to work, and if there is a client that matches your availability they will contact you. You can choose morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and full-time or part-time availability. The company does offer training. Work is project-based, so how long you work on each project depends on the length of each one. However, once a project is over most of the time you will be able to sign up for additional projects. There can be a small lag between projects.
You will be an independent contractor and will need to take care of your own taxes. There are no benefits available but some of the clients offer discounts on their services for workers. The pay ranges from $7 an hour to $30 an hour depending on the type of work you do. Clients pay either per minute per call, per call, per project, or per hour, it all depends on what project you are assigned to. Working Solutions does have the direct deposit option and pay ranges from weekly to monthly.
Now the downside, Working Solutions only hires when they have a need, which is good because they don’t over hire, but it results in an extremely long wait in getting hired with the company. For some, it has taken more than three years for them to contact, others it can has taken only three months. It can be a long waiting process, so be prepared. Even after you have been contacted it can be a month before you start working. Because some projects are temporary, you should not count on this job as a permanent job, although from most people the projects are pretty consistent and there is little down time. Overall, this is one of the companies to try to get on with if you are seeking a work from home job.
