Why I Attend College

I have always wanted a professional career. After researching about many different careers and the process of getting into these professions, I realized that college was a must to attend. It is true that without going to college, there is no way one can be professionally accredited in a certain field. For example, doctors, lawyers, bankers and many others have to attend college before they get to work in their given fields.

Also, college is one way a person can increase knowledge and skills that cannot be obtained from informal education. Like knowledge of how to find out information using different sources, research techniques, proper grammar and knowledge of how to speak properly in a given language. I do not know whether this may sound hypothetical, there are people born in English speaking countries but cannot speak proper English. I personally think, the reason why this is like so, is that these people either did not attend school or have not gone to college.

In addition to the above, I decided to attend college because I want to be able to compete for good jobs that require a college degree. As mentioned above, lawyers need degrees to practice law, doctors require medical degrees to practice medicine. I see it to be difficult for me to get a good job or even compete with people who have college degrees. From this point therefore, I decided to enroll in college to get a degree so that I can be able to compete.

There are skills that I have which make me suitable for studying in a technological age. These skills range from being a learner to being a follower in one way or the other. As a learner, I’m able to learn different things from different sources. For example, my instructors give me information and directions on where, what and how to find important data that I need. With this, I feel I’m a suitable candidate to study in a technological age.

In addition, me being a good follower, I’m able to follow trends and procedures which will greatly help me complete college in a technological age.

Access to internet has also made me a suitable candidate of studying in a technological age. Since this resource is available, I’m able to work and go to school. This makes it a little bit easier for me to have many tasks accomplished at ago.

Also, I’m a dedicated person who likes concentrating, working and completing something started. This helps me to be more organized in what I do. With this kind of dedication, I feel I have what it takes to study in a technological age.

I have computer skills like working with PowerPoint, word, spreadsheets and web. Studying in a technological age require these skills. Since I have these skills, it will be simpler to accomplish my goals.

Knowing that we are in a technological age, I have strategies to help me successfully study. These strategies include, doing my assignments and handing them in on time. This will help me maintain grades and eliminate the possibility of failing a class.

Another strategy I’m going to use is asking question on things that I do not understand. I will use my instructor and my classmates to help me understand things that are difficult for me to understand. I will use available resources like tutor online, online library to work out topics that I cannot understand.

I have a strategy of working hard so that nothing comes in my way from attending college. Also, I will utilize my time to work on college assignments.

Although I know there are challenges in attending college and working at the same time, I’m planning on dedicating most of my time on college work.
