Why Fall is My Favorite Season

Fall is the season where the leaves turn to beautiful browns, yellows, magentas, reds, and light greens; where the wind blows coolly, calmly, and the sun dangles its light between the trees. Fall is when I love to fall in love, watch Halloween horror movies, the time I am most focused, and the season that makes my spirit feel renewed.

Fall is a time when you are able to start over again. The year is about to end in a few more months, and fall is a time to think, meditate on the direction your life is going. I love going to fall football games, eating popcorn at dusk while sitting on the porch, writing poetry in my room, looking out the window, daydreaming about a lost love.

Fall can be as romantic as you want it to be, I love the way the sky seems to send fresh air into my lungs, and the moon is a beacon for me to find my way home. The nights are longer, the days are shorter, and you can spend time with your family talking, eating, drinking hot chocolate, and getting ready for new school lessons.

I am in my senior year of college, the winter will bring my last semester, however, this fall is more important because I have to finish four classes to get to the last two. I remember all my fall days of yesteryear, and I have always adored how the summer ended, cooling down the earth; and life seemed to slow down.

Fall is about relaxation, meditation, prayer, and last night reading the Bible I felt so relieved that I had come home to my mother, I was not plagued by the voices in my head, and I was able to enjoy my study of my Father above. Fall can bring new beginnings in your life because you are able to think positive, and think on something all together different.

I love to sit outside in the evenings after all my work is done, and look at the trees. I enjoy being in the presence of the Holy Spirit, and fall seems to bring the angels even closer to me because my heart is more calm. Summer is brash, fast-paced, humid, and muggy; but, fall is sweet, decadent, a savor, a flavor, and a treat.

Children play after school, people walk their dogs, mow the lawn for the last couple of times, and frost comes in by November. The burning of leaves soothes my soul, and I love the sweet aroma of their perfume. The natural high of fall sends chills down my spine, I revel in how the night brings inspiration for me to write, and I want you all to experience this pleasure.

In some places, fall brings snow, but just think you can curl up by the fire, sip soup, and look into the eyes of those you love; feeling love, sending love, and just enjoying the stillness of life.

You do not have to speak, or go out in fall, just revel in nature. You can feel the change of summer to fall when the leaves start falling, and you see squirrels playing. Ants gather their food for the cool months, and everything is getting ready to prepare for its place in what is to come.

Fall is the beginning of our hibernation when winter comes. My mother and I make lots of grocery around November because when winter comes we want to be in the warmth of our cozy apartment away from the cold, however fall’s coolness is mild, and it is just right.
