Who Won America’s Got Talent 2009

Fab Five, Hiphop, Tap Dancing

Season 4 of “America’s Got Talent” finally culminated tonight on the evening of September 19th. After endless weeks of auditions and votes, the one and only FINAL WINNER was announced. Before revealing the victor, let’s take a brief glimpse at the remaining challengers:

Barbara Padilla
Barbara Padilla is a former Opera singer who suffered a near-devastating bout of cancer. Now in remission, she’s returned to try and become the second opera winner of “America’s Got Talent.” Did she have it in her to become the next Neal Boyd?

Drew Stevyns
Drew is a singer and songwriter who tried to woo our hearts with just a guitar by his side. He sang with grace, but was his talent enough to overpower the tremendous passion and vibrancy of superstar Kevin Skinner?

Fab Five
The Fab Five are a lovely team of five sisters who have combined tap-dancing with hiphop music and beats into a synchronized routine chockfull of style, grace, and swagger. Did their modern tap-dancing choreography earn them the trophy?

Grandma Lee
Grandma Lee is a 75-year-old, stand-up comedian who always dreamed of making it big. She blew us away with her naughty, improper, and taboo jokes. Was her deadpan delivery funny enough to guarantee her a spot in American history?

Hairo Torres
Hairo Torres is a wild and funky break-dancer known for his passionate, albeit sometimes strange performances. He skips, hops, breaks, and even does the splits. Was it enough to garner a victory though?

Kevin Skinner
Kevin is a chicken farmer with a modest attitude and country personality. His singing voice is lacking, but is far outweighed by his awe-inspiring passion. But was his passion in itself worthy enough of American fame and fortune?

Lawrence Beaman
Lawrence is a certified new-age “Barry White” with a baritone voice, muscular physique, and overwhelming smile. He’s like Neal Boyd, but with more passion, a larger-than-life stage presence, and a connection to soul music. Did his singing render him the champion?

The Texas Tenors
The Texas Tenors are a band of country cowboys with booming voices and unbelievable harmonics. This trio of Texas singers bedazzled us with their heartfelt renditions of classic songs. Was it enough though to pave their way to victory?

The Voices of Glory
The Voices of Glory are a tag-team featuring two brothers and a sister who once coaxed their ailing mother out of an almost fatal coma. They then hit the road and made their way onto the “America’s Got Talent” stage, where they have coaxed our hearts with their heart-wrenching story. Is their talent, youth, and story enough to establish them as the winners?

THE FINAL WINNER/THE FINAL WINNER/THE FINAL WINNER

And here it is folks. The winner of America’s Got Talent 2009 is Kevin Skinner!
