Wedding Venue Review: Walt Disney World Weddings

cinderella's castle, Domo, Vow Renewal, Wedding Website

When my wife and I discussed renewing our wedding vows for our tenth anniversary, it wasn’t hard for us to decide on a Walt Disney World wedding at the Disney theme park in Orlando, Florida. This is without a doubt a first class venue, and guys, you cannot go wrong if you provide your bride with a wedding or vow renewal ceremony in a fairy tale setting at the Walt Disney World Resort. It has long been a favorite vacation destination for our family and we never leave disappointed.

When planning a wedding or vow renewal ceremony at Walt Disney World, virtually any option you can think of is available to you. You can choose from traditional ceremonies or come up with something unique on your own, and you can easily share the experience with family and friends and invite them to come along.

Starting at about $3,500 per couple, you can get a Disney Intimate Wedding that includes your choice of five different locations, the bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonniere (specially designed by a Walt Disney World florist), a two-tiered wedding cake (chocolate, yellow, marble, or almond, with several fillings available) with topper, a bottle of Fairy Tale Cuvee for the champagne toast, a violinist for the ceremony and reception, and a four consecutive hour limousine charter for transportation for you and your guests on the day of the ceremony.

You can also add on other musicians, including a flutist and a guitarist, and you can hire Renaissance costumed Major Domo to carry your rings down the aisle in a glass slipper. And, if you’re really into Disney magic, you can add a variety of Disney characters to your event, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse. A professional Disney photographer is also included, for both the ceremony and the reception, and you will be provided with a Disney album with twenty images of your choice from the event. There is also a personalized wedding website so that you can share information with friends and family, and the happy couple is given a Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Wedding Certificate.

The locations available include the Sea Breeze Point at Disney’s Boardwalk (with a white wedding gazebo just off the boardwalk), The Wedding Gazebo at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort (with a wedding gazebo in a garden setting), Sunrise Terrace at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (a fourth floor balcony setting overlooking landscaped gardens and Bay Lake), and Disney’s Wedding Pavilion (subject to availability, Monday through Thursday).

I do have to mention that Disney requires a four night minimum stay at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts, in addition to the wedding package, and that the cake and champagne toast accommodates four guests. There is an additional cost if you want to invite more people, which will certainly be the case for a wedding, and is a possibility for a vow renewal, depending on the level of intimacy or privacy you desire.

If you want to go for something a bit fancier, then consider a Walt Disney World Premium Intimate Wedding Package, starting at around $4,400 per couple. This package gets you the exclusive Walt Disney World Wedding Pavilion, with a palm-fringed solarium and a view of Cinderella’s Castle across the Seven Seas Lagoon. The chapel is non-denominational. The Premium Package comes with everything included in the regular Intimate Wedding, plus an organist and solo musician for the ceremony.

No matter which route you take a wedding or vow renewal at Walt Disney World will be an event with memories that last a lifetime.
