Ways to Find Old Magazines to Collect

craig's list

Anyone that is a collector of anything knows that the hardest ones to find are the older versions of the product. If you’re a Coca-Cola collector you know that you will be hard pressed to find some of the first bottles that came out from Coke, and if you’re a baseball card collector you will know that it is impossible to find a Babe Ruth card. However, if you put your mind to finding the item, you can locate what you are looking for. The topic today is how to find old magazines that you might be collecting or that you know has an article in them that you want to read.

Now sometimes the first location that I would look to find some of the older magazines would actually be a common web site that has a ton of people selling items on it. The one that I turn to first for older magazines is EBay, now with EBay though you do have to be careful and make sure your buying from a seller that knows some information about the product they are selling. For instance you would not look up a magazine title and pull up about thirty choices with them all saying huge collection available. Now most people will want to know which ones are in that collection before purchasing because at times the collection could be the last year’s issues which you might already have.

The next stop that I make in the online world for an old magazine is Craig’s List. Now at times you can find some great deals on Craig’s List, but the same theory applies that you would use on EBay. The good news is though from what I have found on Craig’s List the people are typically very knowledgeable about what they have. Sometimes you might even have to go to the person’s home to pick up the item which will allow you to view the item in person before purchasing it rather than having to trust someone’s online description.

If you are not Internet savvy or do not trust purchasing products that could cost you some small amount of money online then you can search some second hand book stores. At times the second hand bookstores will have some older magazines in them that are available for purchase, the downside is because they are dependent on people bringing them in and selling to them you might not have as large of a selection. Not only that since they are obviously in the business to make money you might overpay if you buy from them rather than online from a private seller who may or may not be giving you a great deal on the magazines.

Finding old magazines that you like to read or want to collect does not have to be hard. However, you do have to be careful about who you buy from on the Internet because at times the descriptions that they provide to you can be deceiving. So if you want to collect old magazines these are some great starting places to look.
