Vodafone Internet USB Dongle

Are you the proud owner of a Vodafone Dongle? Or any Mobile Internet USB Device that you pay for limited use of, such as pay as you go, pay monthly and contract subscriptions.

You know the USB Device that turns you normal everyday laptop into a Mobile Internet roaming facility?

Ah now you see there is something that your gracious Vodafone host may have forgot to mention to you when you purchased your Dongle, and to tell you the truth why should they? Because what this article will eventually explain… the truth if they (Vodafone) don’t tell you will help them to make lots of money via the Mobile Internet and your credit!

Okay as you know with the Vodafone Dongle you will appreciate that there is a monthly fee for around 1 Gigabyte to 3 Gigabytes of use per month. This if you are a heavy Internet user is not really enough time surfing so you should be very casual with your use unless you wish to purchase more GB for another premium.

Ah!” You might be saying “yes I know this!” But do you know that there is something that is sapping away your paid for use in often many many GB at a time?

No?

Well you know those oh so wonderful Microsoft Updates that can be so troublesome and memory chugging at the best of times?

Yes you do know! Well those same Microsoft Updates are blasting your credit every time your Security Center kicks in, and as this information has so kindly been edited out of any sales pitch and literature from Vodafone staff or manuals then I thought you should know – kind of me yes?

How do I save my Megabytes and Gigabytes on my Vodafone Dongle?

The following information and instructions should be performed before you use your Vodafone Dongle while out and about or indoors.

Firstly you should go to your Control Panel, locate and proceed to Security Center then turn off Microsoft Updates.

If you have not done this and have been using your Dongle previously, then you will quickly notice that your Internet usage and time online will increase.

You might say “oh I don’t mind the odd 200 kilobytes here and there” but you would be wrong!

The odd 200 kilobytes will turn to Megabytes and Gigabyte over the coming months, and if your computer is constantly updating then your credit ant Internet time will suffer.

Once you have finished using your laptop for mobile surfing, you can always revert to Microsoft Updates via your existing home Broadband Connection.

To do this remove your Vodafone Dongle, go to your Control Panel, locate and proceed to Security Center then turn on Microsoft Updates.

No need to thank me, you are welcome and it is a pleasure to let you know of the potential little money spinner for your Mobile Internet Provider!
