Visiting Niagara Falls, Canada

American Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Maid of the Mist, Marineland, Tourist Spots

Niagara Falls, Canada is a great place to go on vacation, and there are a lot of things to see and do when you are visiting. Both the Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls are awe inspiring and are definitely worth the visit alone. They are lit up in color every night as well so be sure that you see them both in daylight and at night. Besides walking the length of both falls and taking in the amazing views, here are a few other “must-do” attractions while you are visiting.

Journey Behind The Falls

Here you will take an elevator from street level down to the level of the bottom of the falls. You will walk through a tunnel (careful the floors can get very slippery!) and the first stop you come to will take you outside, right at the base of the falls. The raincoat provided you at the beginning of the tour will come in very handy here. It is amazing to look up the length of the falls from right below them, and also a great photo opportunity. Then you will go back in and through more of the tunnel, where you will get to stop in a cave that is behind the Horseshoe Falls, where you can see the waterfall pouring down right in front of you. If you have never been to Niagara Falls, you will definitely want to take this trip.

Maid of the Mist

The Maid of the Mist is a boat ride that will take you right to the base of the falls. Raincoats are also provided on this trip. This is an attraction definitely worth the cost because let’s face it, boat rides are fun, anyway, and this trip offers amazing views and photo opportunities of both the American and Horseshoe Falls.

The Great Gorge Adventure

Here you will get to hike on a boardwalk through the edge of the woods as you walk beside the rapids down the river from Niagara Falls. This is a beautiful place that offers lots of scenery and a great place to take pictures.

Skylon Tower

This tower offers some amazing views of the falls and the surrounding area. There are two restaurants at the top, one a buffet where all the seats offer a view of the falls, and the other is a revolving dining room with a more formal atmosphere. There is an observation deck as well. At the bottom of the tower you will find shopping and a family fun center with an arcade and rides. While you are in the Skylon, check out he 3d falls movie.

Niagara Falls Museum

Here you will find lots of artifacts as well as the history of the town and the falls themselves. Though some of the things are even a little creepy, this is an interesting place that is one of the oldest tourist spots in the town.

Whirlpool Trip

Here you can see the huge whirlpool in the mighty Niagara River down from Niagara Falls. The brave at heart can ride a huge aero car over the whirlpool and back.

Clifton Hill

Here you will find all of the tourist spots in Niagara Falls. Even if you prefer things other than the tourist traps when on vacation, you should at least check out Clifton Hill. Here you will find tons of souvenir shops, candy stores, museums, a small amusement park, arcades, and restaurants. Go through a wax museum. Play miniature golf and ride the giant Ferris wheel. Check out a nightclub or the nearby casino.
