Visit Montreal for Family Fun

Canadian History, Themed Gardens

Have you always thought you would like to visit Canada but don’t know where to start? Why not consider Montreal? Located in the southwest of Quebec, Montreal offers a host of fun and interesting things to see and do for the whole family.

Parks and Gardens

If you love strolling among beautiful gardens and playing in recreational parks, you will be spoiled for choice in Montreal. This wonderful city is teeming with gorgeous parks and gardens. Probably one of the city’s largest and most popular parks is Mount Royal Park, which offers stunning landscapes, a sculpture garden, lake and ski slope. No matter what the season, you can enjoy a variety of activities here such as hiking, biking, ice skating and cross country skiing just to name a few.

At the Montreal Botanical Garden, you can meander along several different themed gardens such as the Japanese Garden, Alpine Garden and the First Nations Garden where you will discover some of Canada’s native plants as well as art works and totem poles created by native tribes of Canada.

A massive greenhouse facility, the Montreal Biodome is a must do. All under one gigantic roof, you can experience several contrasting environments that are native to the American continents. For example, you can walk through the recreated South American rainforest to see its exotic animals, birds and plants. Take a short hike through the lush North American wilderness and see the native fish. Climb along the cliffs of the Labrador Coast or the Sub-Antarctic Islands and observe the penguins.
