You can buy a lamp kit at almost any arts and craft stores as well as at most hardware store. Generally you should expect to pay about $10 to $15 for the lamp kit. You need to provide your own small accent lampshade, light bulb, and lamp base!

To Make a Lamp Out of a Vintage Metal Watering Can You Will Need:
Vintage Metal Watering Can
Power Drill
Metal Cutting Drill Bit
Lamp Kit
The first step is to completely clean off the outside of your empty Vintage Metal Watering Can. I like to simply wipe it out with a brisk hand broom. This will remove any excess dust and particles.
Now, take your power drill, with the correct drill bit, and drill a small hole in the middle bottom of the Vintage Metal Watering Can and straight through out the inside.
This is where the electrical cord will be coming out of your Vintage Metal Watering Can lamp.
Install you lamp kit follow their instructions. Each lamp kit product will be different and it is best to use their specific instructions. Run your electrical cord out of the hole in the bottom and top of your Vintage Metal Watering Can. The top of the lamp kit should be coming out of your watering can.
Add a light bulb and a small lampshade and you are set!
Tips:
-Don’t limit yourself to true Vintage Metal Watering Cans. I find great new Metal Watering Cans all the time at Lowe’s and Home Depot. You can buy them in almost any color, shape and size.
-To age your new Metal Watering Can try rubbing wood gel stain on it. Wipe the excess away with a dry clothe. You will love the results and you can instantly turn a new brick into a vintage or old looking Metal Watering Can.
-Get creative with the finial on your Vintage Metal Watering Can lamp. Check out your local lamp store for unique hand painted lamp finials. You can find them in garden themes and retro themes very easily!
