UFC’s Chuck “Iceman” Liddell

Charles David Liddell entered the world on December 17, 1969 in Santa Barbara, California. Chuck Liddell or the “Iceman” was raised by a single mother who encouraged her children to learn how to defend themselves. Who knew he would become a millionaire paid to fight?

Chuck attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he majored in accounting. He also wrestled. Something fans see little of during his fights. Liddell’s fighting style is to stand up and counter punch. His signature move is the overhand right. You don’t want to get caught with that!

Chuck is the father of one daughter, Trista and one son, Cade.

The Iceman debuted in 1998. He soon became the face of the mixed martial arts giant, UFC. With 21 wins and 7 losses, Chuck trains out of The Pit with longtime trainers John Hackleman and John Lewis. He is the former UFC Light Heavyweight champion.

Chuck Liddell stands out in a crowd with his Mohawk and tattoo down the side of his head. He is also a man that has in hand in many different projects. Chuck has had many different television appearances where he usually plays himself or some type of fighter.

He coached on the widely popular Spike TV reality program TUF in its first season against Randy Couture. Chuck is also the very first fighter from the UFC to appear on the cover of ESPN the Magazine. In 2008 he released his autobiography titled Iceman: My Fighting Life.

It came as a surprise to some mma fans when Chuck appeared as a contestant on the 9th season of Dancing with the Stars.

Dana White, president of the UFC and personal friend of Chucks had recently been throwing around the word “retirement. Dana announced a retirement, but it seems to be over already. Liddell just signed on to coach season 11 of TUF opposite fight Tito Ortiz. A fight between the two will more than likely round out the show.
