Trying to Conceive: Side Effects of Generic Personal Lubricants and Benefits of Pre-Seed

Personal Lubricants

So you’re trying to get pregnant? I’m sure that by now, you already have your baby registry fully stocked at Target or Baby R Us. Oh, you probably even bought a bootie and maybe a baby bottle or two for motivation. Don’t worry. Your secret is safe with me! Since you’re trying to get pregnant, you’re probably wondering whether or not you should use lubricant. Lubricant is pretty important, especially when you usually very dry down south. Your vaginal secretions are supposed to be of an egg-white consistency when you are fertile, but this doesn’t happen to some women. Also, when you’re actually thinking about having a baby, you accidentally put so much stress on your body that your body fails to produce enough cervical fluid. Cervical fluid is very important. Think of it as the highway for sperm. Without it, sperm can’t travel up and in the cervix to your Fallopian tubes.

Many personal lubricants that you purchase at the store can actually be very, very bad for sperm. Most of these personal lubricants actually kill most of the sperm before they ever have a chance to reach the Vortex of Cervix. Since you’re a woman trying to conceive, you should stop using any kind of personal lubricant that is water-based. When you choose a personal lubricant, you want something that will help the sperm swim (their motility), and you want something that will help the sperm live longer. If your cervical fluid is weak, the sperm won’t live for much long. There was actually a study done a few years ago that put a few personal lubricants such as Astroglide, Touch, and K-Y Jelly to the test. They also included two vegetable oils, such as Canola Oil. They were looking for a personal lubricant that will help keep the sperm alive and for a longer period of time. They took samples of sperm and mixed them in with these four different kinds of personal lubricants. What they discovered is that all of the commercial lubricants they used limited the sperms ability to swim by 60-100 percent after sixty minutes. That’s a shocker, isn’t it? The effect that these seemingly-innocent personal lubricants had on the sperm was pretty much the same thing that a spermicidal agent (like contraceptive foams) would do for you. Surprisingly, however, the Canola oil had no negative interactions with the sperm. These tests studied how the PH-balance, salinity, and variance in each of these personal lubricants affected the sperm.

And then, ta-da, there was Pre-Seed. What is Pre-Seed, you ask? Well, put it this way. Pre-Seed is a small miracle to women everywhere trying to conceive who are suffering from vaginal dryness. Pre-Seed is specifically designed to not harm sperm in any way, shape, or form. Pre-Seed is PH balanced to mimic your fertile cervical mucus. Pre-Seed also has an internal application that coats both vagina and cervix. You may have heard women talk about using egg-whites as a personal lubricant, but this doesn’t sound like a safe option, because bacteria and yeast could develop. And if you think you can douche and get rid of the egg white reside, you may be compromising the sperm trying to enter your cervix. So if you’ve tried to have a child, and you think that you may have been doing something wrong by using a common lubricant, then give Pre-Seed a try. Sooner or later, you’ll be holding a bundle of love in your hand…while comforting your husband and telling him that you didn’t really mean the things you said while you were in labor!
